The Church

In a Gothic cathedral built on the mass grave of a Teutonic purge, an ancient discovery by the new librarian will release an unholy maelstrom of madness, violence, and demonic vengeance.

Music and atmosphere. Film has a lot of great moments but story is all over, so goes chaos!
Beatiful imagery and the first hour is pretty good. Then the script becomes weaker with some silly characters and unneccesary scenes, souring the overall experience somewhat.
Gorgeously shot, as usual with these old Italian films, with an interesting score and some solid effects. The story may be a little all over the place, but it's still a lot easier to follow than some other Argento stuff. The movie starts off quite strong, then slows down, before ramping back up to a great ending.
Beautifully shot, yes, but man that was some goofy shit. Glad they had Captain Panaka though.
