Yes, it does not have a deep and interesting character progression. Yes, it fails some (many?) scientific explanations.
Never-the-less, it's a great drama with a heartbreaking message.

It bears strong resemblance to the movie Dunkirk.

It was kind of good and i really like the main character acting i think it was a interesting character
The ending was dumb and it sucked, i feel like it would be good film if they actually did stuff rather than just talked about doing it

Oh please. It wasn't that bad. Not every science fiction movie has to be a bang bang shooty shoot fest. For an apocalyptic movie it was strangely relaxing and had a strange degree of comfiness to it. And it ended on a positive note. I'd recommend it if you like science fiction but are also in the mood to watch something easygoing.

O is Netflix's latest low-budget sci-fi film directed by Jonathan Helpert. It follows the story of Margaret Qualley and Anthony Mackie as the last remaining people on Earth, ravaged by human neglect and Mother Nature. Everyone else has fled to IO, the largest of Jupiter's moons, to rebuild civilization. Qualley plays Sam, who stays behind to conduct tests to find a resolution to Earth's problem. Despite an intriguing premise, the movie unfolds at a slow pace and doesn't offer much to engage the audience. The plot lacks depth and the characters are not fully developed. The performances of the lead actors are decent, but not particularly convincing. The cinematography and score are the highlights of the film. However, the overall mood of the film is gloomy and the ending is unsatisfying. IO is a disappointingly average effort from Netflix, that does not fully realize its potential.

Very slow and boring. I appreciate what they tried to do, but it didn’t execute very well. I think it suffered from bad casting. I love Anthony Mackie, and Margaret was great in Maid but I don’t think they had any on screen chemistry.

A weak film with a story that had potential but ends up going nowhere, trying to be deep without really achieving that goal. The characters aren't charismatic enough to hold interest throughout the film, and the romance feels forced and disjointed, making the dynamic even more awkward.

Well-meaning if unoriginal tale of the future of our planet. Sadly, it's boring too, so any ecological message will be missed because of the endless talk and philosophical musings that take place throughout the film. Provided you aren't looking for a blockbuster piece of sci-fi, the film's style might be okay for you, but even taken as a think piece, this still underwhelms.
