I really don’t get why people don’t like this movie. It’s one of the best things I have ever seen.

I spend a fair amount of times researching movies to watch and this one really stuck out because of the gigantic difference between what the critics thought of the film and the audience rating. I almost always side with the critics… until I don’t. This film had a ton of heart and in the end was extremely endearing. I love the way the film transitioned from one “scene” to the next and then was tied up at the end in a way that I should have seen coming but did not.

I recommend watching it for a change from what we constantly watch on TV and on other services

Really enjoyed the stories as they weave and intertwine.

While I thought this movie was good, I find it unlikely that I will ever watch it again. Without giving away any plot points, I will just say that the chapters are a bit uneven. I found the slowest chapter of the film took the most time to get through. While the entire was great and the movie was heartfelt, the lag time around the middle will keep me from a rewatch.

I almost didn't stay around for the good parts of this movie. The movie is divided into 5 chapters. The first two are manic and belabour its titular theme "the most unreliable narrator is life itself". If you are a big fan of Oscar Isaac (I am not) you may fare better in these opening chapters than I did. But, then it settles into some really beautiful moments. I was drawn to the movie by it being penned (and directed) by the writer (and producer) of THIS IS US, Dan Fogelman. The spectacular cast made me hold course. And the wonderful moments made it all worth while. All throughout the movie are reoccurring strains of a song that transform as the movie moves, making a wonderful, and inobtrusive, passageway for thought, emotion and theme. If the first two chapters hadn't been such hard work, I would rate this movie a 9 (superb) but because of the uneven, jarring transitions, I will rate this a 7.5 (wonderful moments) out of 10. [Drama]

The film reaches for great significance, but is only partly successful. However, it is a very well made film, and while it won't be an enduring classic, the film is still emotionally resonant and occasionally quite beautiful. Forget the negative critical response then, and go into the film with an open mind and heart.

This is a confusing one for me. First off, it is 100% the Hostel of Grief Porn. Hands down. The beats this movie hits you with are absolutely insane. I mean, insane. Just one bummer after another like the filmmaker is trying to make a greatest hits of bummers. It's laughable stuff. But....BUT....I cried for the last five minutes. Ugly cried. So did I like the movie?! I really can't say I did. It's not good. And it ends with one of my most hated cliches...But then theres all that crying. I just don't know. Wait wait wait wait wait. I take that back. Spoiler time. Spoiler time. So did Rigo eventually tell Dylan that at that exact street corner they meet he was the reason her mom died?!?!? Whoa whoa whoa whoa. This movie is CRAZY.
