Believe all the hype! This is not only the best horror movie of the year, but also of the last years!! It's a masterpiece, and I'm so happy that we have something so unique now in the horror genre, in the time of so many reboots and remakes. This one is special. This movie is sophisticated, it's original, it has some of the best acting I've seen and Toni Collette will be for sure nominated at the Oscar for this iconic performance. Also, the directing.. Wow. Absolutely genious! All the takes and close ups.. Perfection. The soundtrack is also amazing. Everything works and we have here a modern masterpiece that will be talked for years and years!!!

I'm not sure I can fully articulate what I felt about Hereditary. While it is one of the best produced horror movies for a good while, I don't think it hit me fully during the actual viewing of the movie like it clearly intended. I got much more pleasure and fright musing over the events after the fact than I did in the moment.
I guess that's a good sign? For a movie to leave you in deep thought and discovering new connections, themes and scares that may have glanced off you the first time round?
Another viewing is definitely required.

One of the most unique, original and compelling horror movies ever made. It will 100% end up as a horror classic in the future and will be much more highly regarded in the future by the general audience unlike now as you can see by those 2 comments below me by people who were too stupid and not sophisticated enough for this kind of movie so they got upset that they didn't get a popcorn garbage like The Conjuring and Annabelle, lmao.

Watched this one and have never said WTF do many times in my life. It was one of the most interesting horror movies with a plot and a story. It was not the typical jump scares. There were things that happened that I just did not see happening at all especially so early in the movie. And the ending was definitely surprising. A little annoyed at myself for waiting this long to watch it. And Toni Collette was amazing.

I have not had a movie make me feel as much dread as this one did.
A truly shocking and tense film.
Tells its story in a way that treats its audience with intellect.
The acting was great, with Collette putting in the performance of a career.

This film is soul-crushing, but in a good way.

The best 2018's horror movie, and I've no doubt this is an horror masterpiece! I was frightening with three films even after movie ended: The Exorcist, The Conjuring, and now Hereditary. Annie Graham had a spetacular performance.
