Afterburn

Set against the backdrop of a postapocalyptic Earth whose Eastern Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare, leaving what life remains mutated from radiation and fallout. The story revolves around a group of treasure hunters who extract such objects as the Mona Lisa, the Rosetta Stone and the Crown Jewels while facing rival hunters, mutants and pirates.
I had absolutely no expectations whatsoever for this and walked away surprised by how entertained I was. J.J. Perry has now made three movies and I’ve enjoyed all of them. This didn’t have the greatest script but that’s okay. I honestly expected this to be complete crap but it’s really not. I like the way this director shoots his action sequences. It’s kind of over the top with the violence but that made it fun. I always enjoy Bautista as an actor. He’s usually plays a fun character. Olga Kurylenko was also good and enjoyable to watch. She played a pretty badass character. Like I said this isn’t really that great but it’s entertaining enough with some decent action to enjoy.
