I kinda loved it! Sometimes you just want to watch a rom-com and this one hit it for me.
One of the best of the genre. It's as simple as that. Two great leads who have chemistry and a story that isn't necessarily groundbreaking but does at least tread new ground.
And the gay couple almost steal the film. They're perfectly cast/acted.
I had been putting off watching this film for a few weeks now. The "platonic friends navigate the wedding season" genre has been beaten to death in so many mediocre rom coms. I decided to give it a chance based on some of the reviews - this was a good decision.
The film was in fact very different from so many others. I won't go too far into the details as it might give some of it away (is that possible?). I recently watched and enjoyed Always Be My Maybe - I dare say that this was better. The two leads were excellent and perfectly cast the film seemed to find out a unique niche in the genre. I was invested from beginning to end and it is definitely one of the better films that I've seen this year.

This was way better than I expected. Both leads did a great job and were believable.
There were fun and sad parts and the normal ups and downs of a relationship that are heightened for your viewing pleasure and emotional satisfaction.
cemetery sex scene, you will always be famous
Occasionally funny, but its Erskine who gives the score the plus one here as it would be a little dull without her.
The story is not that good and the love chemistry of the two protagonists is non-existent.
I love Jack Quaid, and Maya Erskine seems like a good actor, too, but this movie wasn't all that for me.
I thought Alice's character was unlikeable. She basically put all the blame on Ben, while IMO, she also could have handled things better.
I don't know, it was a bit too cliché for my taste. I know that is to be expected by this genre and the plot line, but after all the hype surrounding it, I guess I was expecting a bit more out of it.
Edit: I think it's also that her character was very much the Awkwafina type of character that I've gotten kind of sick and tired of.
Unoriginal story but **Erskine hive rise**
Predictable , some funny parts,Jack Quaid is good but Maya sucks you just can't like her.No chemistry, Not worth watching
