The Mortuary Collection

In the phantasmagorical town of Raven's End, a misguided young girl takes refuge in a decrepit old mortuary. This was a lot of fun and entertaining from start to finish. Definitely had a Creepshow vibe. I thought the Babysitter Murders story was absolutely brilliant and so well executed, that I had to rewatch it to see how I had misinterpreted the clues. The ending of the movie is an open invitation for a sequel. Hopefully there will be one (or a couple).

Great anthology! Could be better at the end but still twisty and spooky mini horror movies

No, it’s not the scariest film, but it’s a lot of fun and in that regard, it reminded me a lot of Trick ‘r Treat. Super-fun, great direction, solid stories, well-acted and packaged together in a neat and bloody package.

Good genre mix of horror elements in this anthology. Clancy Brown is a strong central presence and there are enough twists to make this a fun, fast paced flick.

Pretty messed up. Maybe more so than a Tales from the Crypt episode. There’s actually some good twists here and there.

I definitely did watch this movie to see Jacob Elordi’s penis explode, but in the end I had thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this movie. My favourite had to be the third story, the end to that where they were floating in the elevator gave me the chills, I loved it so damn much.

I thought it was a pretty good anthology movie. Not as good a Trick 'r Treat, but still entertaining.

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘The Mortuary Collection’:

1. That
childbirth
scene was… memorable.

2. There were some original and creative ideas here, some decent twists. I like the way the stories got progressively more complex. But the potential was hampered down by a few flawed performances and some lazy writing.

3. For the final story, I loved how the juxtaposition of the stereotypical babysitter slasher film on the television helped fuel the twist of the main story.

Bonus Thought: Could that woman in the first story have tried leaving that bathroom ANY SLOWER? Infuriating.

Its an okay Horror anthology. Unfortunately the editing team removed many scenes that should have been in the movie. Better watch Deleted scenes to get a whole idea.

Very bad film the whole film I was just bored only that the end of the film was a bit interesting thanks to that end I rate 4 points otherwise I would give 3.
