The setup - a man has fallen in love with a woman that is not his life. As in so many of these films that man seems to have problems making the leap out of his marriage. In these kinds of arrangements (and films) the man seems to have the power over the women because he is the one making the decision. An interesting and subtle twist happens towards the end of the movie that make you really wonder what happened on the tuesday after christmas.
