Presenting the tale of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, this filmed version of the original Broadway smash hit is the story of America then, told by America now.

I wish more musicals would get released like this after their runtime in theaters for people like me who have no way to see them live.
Incredible. A current twist on Broadway and on the Founding Fathers. Even if you've never thought you would love the theater, this is the one. Putting it into a film, releasing it for the Fourth of July, Disney just did something amazing for American Art. Bravo Zulu.
It really lived up to the hype. I wish I could of seen this live with the original cast.
Incredible performance from the opening scene to the very end. The movement on stage, the camera angles and the acting - wonderful. This is a must see filmed stage production. Includes camera angles you'd never see in the audience.
Absolutely astonishing! The entire cast is incredible, but Renee Alise Goldsberry and Daveen Diggs nearly steal the show. Of course, the biggest star is Lin-Manuel Miranda himself, and his smart, funny, emotional lyrics, his beautiful music and his moving performance. "My Shot" is rousing and thrilling, the rap battles intelligent and funny and if "It's Quiet Uptown" doesn't have you in tears then you're not human. This production is wonderfully directed, I almost felt I was there.
Brilliant musical that makes me feel emotions I did not know existed, empathy, sadnesss, sursprise, fear and satisfaction. **Warning, time flies by**
This production, has seized my coveted top slot for best movie I've ever seen. Even tho it took me months to finally finish it due to its immense complexity. I finally was able to finish the experience in its full glory (Audio & visual wise-4k VR+ IEM 24k gold headphones) man this is simply a stunner of a masterpiece. Whether it were a made up story or not, the production and script would still be pure gold. Zero faults with this production. Everything was masterful, and I am understanding that theater is blind so I know some of you secretly strip points from the production because you don't understand this and want to see George Washington himself on stage etc, but this was a true masterpiece of a production perfectly translated to the big screen and I am inspired and awed.; I wept at the end of this film, so much effort was placed into recollection, that they set you up so perfectly to recall emotions and intent, with its characters. However the ending was a total plot twist I never imagined, based on the introduction, I thought it would end savagely but Jesus was I surprised to feel gloom for just about every character involved by the end.
WOW! This is a powerful musical. The writing was great. The acting was great. The music was great. The staging was great. I think all musicals, they want to turn into a movie, should be made this way. Just film the actual play/musical itself. I have a feeling CATS would have sold many many more tickets if they had simply filmed the stage version.
There is one item in the musical that I have to mention. They do a rewind a couple of times. One of them was more obvious and longer and it is a beautiful thing to watch.
10th watch! Beautiful story, almost every song is legitness ("What'd I Miss" isn't it), there is always a little tear at one point or another.
I can just keep rewatching this.
