I will never look at the colour red the same ever again. Same goes for the blue.
Also, great movie, made me think, you enjoy it whether you think throughout or not, so it’s a nice accessible experience with good audience interaction. 10/10

Edgar Wright really outdid himself this time and I’m consistently amazed by his work. The direction in this film is honestly probably the best of year with every shot so delicately placed and beautiful, the scenery in this film is obviously stunning and the costume design absolutely phenomenal. You can really tell every time Edgar Wright makes a film how much a movie movie buff he is. Every song in this film feels so perfectly chosen for every scene and the score is amazing as well. Thomasin McKenzie was absolutely amazing in this film and deserves more love because this film was marketed it seems as Ana Taylor Joys film and when it comes to Ana Taylor Joy she absolutely stole the show and made your eyes lock in on her with every scene she was in. Can’t understate how artistic this film is and just a good horror movie in general as well. Easily one of the best movies this year if not the best so far.

Truly brilliant film that had me captivated from the beginning to the end that i was not expecting.

Great cast, great acting and brilliantly filmed with a sound track that really puts you back in the 60s.

Easily added to my top ten films of this year.

Last Night in Soho

I found Last Night in Soho to be a masterpiece.

Top photography and coloring, that alternation of red and blue, I really enjoyed it; a reproduction of an incredible 60's London.
Then we want to talk about the acting of Thomasin McKenzie? An actress who has always performed beautifully in her films but in this one, wow, she was just perfect. Every single one of her expressions could not have been done in a better way. I hope she gets at least a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Oscars.
And what about Anna Taylor Jay? Charming, gorgeous, sexy, provocative. Crazy too.

All this, accompanied by a masterful soundtrack : upbeat, creepy, serene, sad, scary. Especially in the final scene of the staircase: one expects a gloomy, scary music in a scene like that, but instead we have a musical accompaniment reminiscent of some scene of a girl prancing on a flowery meadow lmao.

A flaw perhaps is the fact that Elosie, faced with a ruthless killer, reacted in a way that was too kind for what Sandy had committed throughout her life.
The other flaw is the change in the cop's behavior toward Elosie in the present, when in the past he was trying to protect Sandy from prostitution.

That being said, it definitely belongs in my top 20 movies I've ever seen, with some of the best cinematography I've ever seen, and a talented young girl Thomasin, who I hope gets at least a nomination, who was perfect in this film.

Take the man who (co-)wrote and/or directed Spaced, the Cornetto trilogy, Scott Pilgrim, Ant-Man and Baby Driver, add not just one but two of the finest young actresses in the world, create a story that's as much an homage to a romanticised version of London in the 60s as it is a psychological horror, and you get a film that is equal parts headf*ck and masterpiece!

I found that Last Night in Soho took its sweet time getting me hooked, but as the first act was coming to a close, I was locked in. The movie constantly had me thinking what was to come next, trying to decipher what was the connection between the main characters were and why this was happening. There were scenes in this film that really had me on the edge of my seat, and I have not had that experience in a long time. I did not know much coming into the film, so I expected Anya Taylor-Joy to be the lead, but I was pleasantly surprised at the spectacular performance that Thomasin McKenzie delivered. She really displayed the full range of emotion, showing shades of a shy timid and unsure girl to being a powerful and confident mistress of the night. But not only did these dueling personalities take center stage, but her ability to capture the horror and terror her visions continued to bring on. It was amazing and I will definitely be tuning in to more of her films. I found the plot to be very good, on the surface it is somewhat simplistic, but it is delivered very well with each piece of the puzzle slowly being hand delivered by Edgar Wright. But by the third act, the twists are predictable, and the ending does not deliver as much as I would have liked.

Verdict: Excellent

The movie has a strong start and an even stronger finish, with a satisfying twist and a separate surprise reveal at the end. But the second act is a bit dodgy at times and it's mostly the pacing that suffers as a result. The cast members provide solid performance all-around, but by far the best part of this one for me is Thomasin McKenzie, who is a new-to-me young talent and an incredibly appealing one. In the end, this story wasn't quite what I was expecting, but that turned out to be just fine.
