Crisis

Three stories about the world of opioids collide: a drug trafficker arranges a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation between Canada and the U.S., an architect recovering from an OxyContin addiction tracks down the truth behind her son's involvement with narcotics, and a university professor battles unexpected revelations about his research employer, a drug company with deep government influence bringing a new "non-addictive" painkiller to market.

A good drama/thriller with some interesting twists and turns. Vengeance is the order of the day. :thumbsup_tone1: Well worth a watch.

It isn't a terrible movie. You have three storylines:

A DEA undercover agent trying to make a bust, a mother seeking revenge for the death of her son and a university professor whistleblowing on a big pharma corp about their new product not being what they claim. While the first two are connected the third, and as I felt most important one, has no direct connection. And that's where I have a problem with the movie overall. The mother/DEA agent storyline is generic and not very interesting. While the other part could have made for a really good investigative movie especially with someone like Gary Oldman as the lead.

In the end all three stories take away from each other and it's not helping overall. Like I said, not terrible and/or unwatchable. But ultimately a movie that'll fade in the background of your mind.

This was basically a Lifetime movie. The movie is filled with stereotypes and storylines we've seen over and over before.

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

Inspired by true events, Crisis is dramatic thriller about the opioid epidemic. The plot follows three characters, a university professor, an undercover FIB agent, and a single mother, whose lives are affected by the pharmaceutical black market. Starring Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, and Evangeline Lilly, the film has a solid cast that delivers strong performances. However, the pacing is kind of slow and takes a while to gain momentum. Still, there are some suspenseful moments and a fair amount of intrigue. Crisis is a little muddled, trying for a greater scope than it can do justice to, but ends up being a fairly compelling film about an important social issue.

Meh, fairly entertaining story about an all too real crisis in America.
