This film has many layers and is shaped in a cadenced, intriguing way, valuing the characters, this structure conveys a much greater sense of space, dynamics and the psychological aspect, everything is built up and deepened during development, reaching unimaginable places. It's a devastating, melancholy, dark and extremely violent story on many levels, leaving a feeling of anguish and many reflections, due to various factors ranging from abuse, repulsion, to apathy and omission.

people hated this and gave it bad ratings just cause there was no 'satisfying' ending. a ending where all the bad guys get what they deserve and the victims come out on top. well does that happen in real life all the time? does the bad people always get punished? the main mc of the movie is so unlovable and hate-able that the directors and actresses did a great job. this movie is very very hard to watch throughout cause of the amount of injustice that happens and the people who CAN do something about it not doing anything about it. so many hate-able and fuel raging character. its like a greek tragedy. you dont always like the experiece but you will come out a better person for going through that pain. maybe be a little kinder to others afterward. very well worth a watch with good lessons about inaction in the face of injustice.

This film had so much promise to be great. It was getting there but fell at the final hurdle. The conclusion was extremely poor in the way that Bok-nam never got her full vengeance, died, and Hae-won got to undeservedly, live.

Hae-won ultimately came out of the movie completely unscathed, despite being the worst friend in the history of humanity. Hae-won deserved to die because of her consistent level of inaction and callous indifference towards poor Bok-nam. Hae-won's bloody and justified death would have been the icing on the delicious cake of revenge instead of a shit sandwich which her survival became.

Like turning around for that last look after saying goodbye, everything before it is flat but the final moments almost make it worthwhile.

A rather lopsided and 2-dimensional rape and revenge story stays pretty flat throughout, though develops some relief in the last 5 minutes.
