A Mermaid in Paris

Loved it. This was an absolutely amazing movie. I have not seen a romantic movie like this for a long time.

_A Mermaid in Paris_ claims not to be a remake of Disney's _A Little Mermaid_ and it isn't, because it's a remake of the 1984 Tom Hanks / Daryl Hannah rom-com _Splash_.

Look, you know how hard I can be on romances and French comedies in general, and this film is no exception except there are some nice ideas that put up a fight before succumbing to the brutal onslaught of WTFs that permeate the film like rain water through your underwear when you don't check before sitting on the bench. If you want to turn off your brain without putting up an overly defensive wall, this may be what you're looking for.
