This harrowing drama has its moments but it didn't grip me in the way I expected it would. This might be because the film sidesteps the relationship between Haft and his first love so his quest to find her didn't particularly compel or move me.

The way that the reunion was setup to be this emotional climax was baffling because her character was almost nonexistent!
