Really sad how the movie made these characters so superficial, Hardin's trauma is just a poorly done flashback and Tessa is a trainwreck. Not to mention that all the other characters are just cardboard pawns with no personality or context at all. Just read the books if you're interested in the story (but if you wanna watch for the hot scenes then sure, you're gonna love it).
I wanted to really like this one, I did. But it was just meh. I loved the story of the first movie, this one...I just felt it was just endless love making scenes, confusing back and forth love him, hate him scenes and no real story to it. It felt like an empty shell. Ughh...Really disappointed as this was probably my most anticipated romance movie of the year, because like I said, the first was really heartfelt and I loved it.
Continuing the same series, this is the second installment.
The story picks up where the first film left off, with Hardin and Tessa facing new challenges in their relationship. New characters appear, adding more complexity to the love between the two leads.
The plot delves into the fine details of the conflicts and changes in Hardin and Tessa’s relationship, focusing on themes like jealousy, disappointment, and reconciliation. The film reveals new sides to its characters and highlights dramatic and romantic events.
The second installment is quite ordinary. I expected something better but was disappointed. The romance might be good, but where’s the drama? The dialogues are few, and there are many adult-only scenes. Honestly, it feels like a waste of money.
As I said for the first part, the main actors performed well, but the supporting characters suffered from weak writing. Even though great actors like Candice King were brought in, the problem lies in how the characters themselves were written.

A little better than the first film, _After We Collided_ is a teen drama about destructive relationships. Retconning the ending of the first film, Tessa doesn’t forgive Hardin and moves to take an internship, but their attraction to each other soon brings them back to together. The acting isn’t very good, but the characters are more interesting this time (partly because they’re better written). Yet there are some confounding re-casts. Also, the tone is more sexual, switching to an R rating, which, while it feels right for the material, seems like a desperate move to attract audiences. _After We Collided_ moves the series in the right direction, but it still has too much melodrama and angst.
Well, I think my journey down the AFTER franchise path has come to a thudding stall. Such a waste of Josephine Langford‘s talents. This second instalment’s storytelling just defaulted to reunion, sex, mess up (repeat) to the point I didn’t care any more. I’m a little curious if the last 3 instalments could make a course correction but considering I paused the movie for a bathroom break at 95% completed and it took me 20 minutes to force myself to return to it to finish it, it doesn’t bode well that I’m curious enough to finish the franchise. I give this film a 5 (meh) out of 10. [Romantic Drama]
Difficult to make it to the end. Both main characters are just dumb, unlikeable and annoying. Unrealistic plot. This would never happen like this.
these movies are so awful but I can't stop watching them. Hardin's awful British accent makes me laugh every time. When he screams "FUCKING TREVOR?" and "TESSSSAAAA" I just lose my shit.
Also, on a serious note. Please learn how to write characters with trauma better. Hardin literally tells Tessa the first time she asks about it which is not accurate at all. People don't just open up that easily irl
After we collided, I knew my life would never be the same again. My eyes met yours as you played your moves on Amazon Prime. You lured me in with the promise of a better sequel yet once again, you dropped me like a rain-sodden date on a Friday night. I was left standing with nothing but distaste in my mouth at the sheer audacity of your terribleness. So now I must leave you, with sorrow in my heart. If you do have a sequel, I will try to keep my distance... but knowing you, you will probably lure me in again as I forget how badly you treated me.
dylan sprouse put about 10% of his acting ability into this movie.
So bad that it’s funny
