OK story but it was a lot like the movie gravity in combination with some boat movie I saw a while back. The ending was done nicely. Time and life go on even though everything is gone.
Started kinda slow but picked up speed after a while.. not a running speed just a little fast walk.
Not an action packed movie but plenty of stuff going on to keep you intrigued.
Nice story, good ending even if it was cliched - what other option would be logical in that situation?
Good time waster
Solid 8.5/10
I haven't read the book but it's a good movie to enjoy at home,i love sci-fi & space movies but if this were to be released in theaters it would have bombed.actually if it weren't for the great original score from Alexandre Desplat;i may have fallen sleep while watching.. I'm giving it 8 for the visual, score and seeing Falicity Jones.
I liked this. The acting was everything you would expect from Class A professionals. The story was moving. There were times when the pace was rather laboured but there was great beauty in the film that made the lulls worth it. I give this film a 7 (good) out of 10 [Near Future Drama]
This is not a great movie - but it is good and enjoyable. Once again, since this is still 2020 and there has been a meager selection of decent new movies to watch - this was a breath of fresh air.
Although you do have to check your brain at the coat-check before watching this as there are a few (maybe several) unbelievable things that occur that simply are not survivable and yet somehow...
Sadly (and most annoyingly),
we never actually find out what destroys the earth.
How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
I went in expecting it to be a disaster and was positively surprised, so maybe that's the key here.
It has a slow pacing, for sure, but by the end it fits the story perfectly, so people that just want to see action or explosions might want to sit this one out.
The one loose end that bothers me a little
was the one set at the beginning, for the deliberate misdirection. Not because of said misdirection but because it just feels wrong that they'd mention "the rest of the world" and then never bring up any more details about it like what happened in the first place to precipitate the expedition, how did it get so bad within the 2 years that the expedition took place or _what year is it?_
😅
