Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe

Before Sam Axe teamed up with Michael and Fiona, he was Commander Axe, U.S. Navy SEAL. The Fall of Sam Axe tells the story of how Sam went from respected Naval Commander to the man of mystery we've come to know on Burn Notice. On what will turn out to be Sam's last military mission, he is sent to the jungles of Colombia to investigate claims of a vicious terrorist organization known only as the "Espada Ardiente" (Flaming Sword). His mission: to determine whether U.S. military aid is necessary to deal with the threat. But when he arrives, things are more complicated than he'd imagined. He receives word that the rebels have targeted a small civilian clinic deep in the jungle. Sam must now save the clinic's doctors and patients from certain death. However, nothing is as it seems and the Espada Ardiente may not be the biggest threat Sam Axe faces.

Sam Axe was the best part of Burn Notice, well Gabriel Anwar is a close second.

Wooow.. this is one good movie. I love the humor and Sam Axe. Worth watching if you like Sam in Burn Notice.

At first I was really weary as the humor was horrible. It recovered though. Not bad at all. Gave it a heart. <3

A prequel to the USA hit series, Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe is an entertaining action-comedy. When Sam Axe is sent to Colombia to investigate a rising terrorist group, he discovers that they are actually a group of peasants fighting against a corrupt military general and joins their cause. Bruce Campbell, Kiele Sanchez, and Pedro Pascal lead the cast, and Jeffrey Donovan makes a cameo. Donovan also directs, and keeps the Burn Notice style with color fades and voice overs. However, the tone is a little too comedic and goofy at times, and some of the special effects shot and fight scenes are kind of lackluster. Yet while it has its problems, Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe is a fun adventure that delivers some laughs.

_Very groovy!_
-Sam Axe

It's like a Burn Notice Special except Jeffrey Donovan only pops in to say hi real quick and Gabrielle Anwar is nowhere to be seen. To make up for their absence though you get a triple dose of the almighty Bruce Campbell. I'm not sure if this would be appealing to anyone outside of Burn Notice fans. You can't go wrong with more Groovy Bruce in your life though.

Disney XD-like humor & look. Stupid story; even Pedro Pascal is bad. Campbell playing Sam Axe is ace, though does not redeem the movie. Only for die-hard Burn Notice fans.

This makes me wish that all the Burn Notice episodes were 2 hours long!

Like Whidmark said, the humor is pretty bad...so you'll probably only like this if you <3 Sam. I recommend not watching this until you've seen at least a season or two of Burn Notice, if not until the chronological timing (air time, not storyline time) of between seasons 4 and 5. I think this would work after 2 or 3 seasons, as well, since most of the inside jokes have been covered by then.

Overall, not the best action movie I've ever seen, but it was totally ninja! <3 <3
