There are shots in this that take my breath away--the American landscape, motorcycles, and a killer soundtrack combine in a way that makes you see the promise and hope of American freedom. It's a gorgeous movie to watch. Of course that elation is tempered with a grim fatalism and an unceremonious wallop of an ending that crushed my spirit. Outstanding movie.

A classic the created controversy at the time. Seen from today it is harmless, but you have to see it in the context of the end of the 1960s when American society was changing but not everyone could follow the pace. The movie also has brilliant performances hHopper, Fonda and Nicholson. A must-see for all movie fans.

It is a very unique film, from the direction to the pure subject matter of the entire film. It was a first of it's kind, that boasted three of Hollywood's greats. Along with a timeless soundtrack, it is a perfect ride through the subculture of the 1960's United States. The true definition of a classic movie.

Generational film, the basis of the hippie ideology. Today very outdated.

This movie is just ok for me. The story was almost non existent but it does give us a view into hippie culture of the 60’s . It was amusing watching Hopper blitzed. Great performance by Nicholson.

A good movie with a slow-paced story and few events, but it surprises with shocking and unexpected moments throughout the plot. An interesting aspect is observing the contrast between the time when the movie was made and the present day, although many social issues remain the same. The film effectively reflects on the passage of time, highlighting how certain issues continue to persist even today.

I couldn't get fully lost if the idealism of it all but I appreciated it. Just the thought that this movie and the hippies were very much real at one time is interesting but the story itself did nothing for me. A slice of time and culture that some will love.

I didn't really like it that much. I thought the music while riding was great. The editing was a little jarring at first but it kinda grew on me. It was way to slow. The story and themes were boring to me and the ending was bad. Jack Nicholson is great as always.
