For the type of movie it was, I thought that this was a solid effort. Ava Michelle was really impressive in her debut as a leading lady. She encompassed all the traits her character experienced throughout the movie quite seamlessly. I really hope to see more of her in the coming years.

There's obviously a good deal of pushback in the commentary section for this film, but I don't necessarily feel that the commentators are giving this film, or its subject matter, its proper due. I feel that everyone has their own struggles to deal w/, and sometimes, these struggles are exacerbated by external forces, such as bullying, that make them even more difficult to deal w/ or, in some cases, even intolerable. Standing out anywhere, for any reason, can be difficult for lots of people, b/c they feel separated from others. Whether we're talking about a physical disability, an intellectual disability, an age difference, an ethnic difference, a difference in sexual orientation, a height difference, or the like, in principle, it's really the same. It's something, as viewed by the majority, that sets us apart, as the minority.

I won't minimize one person's struggles, b/c I've never walked a mile in their shoes. I don't know their psychological makeup and how they're equipped to handle adverse situations. It's not fair of me to assume that if the same thing were to happen to me, I would handle the situation differently. Of course, it's easy for me to sit back, w/ the advantages of not having had to deal w/ the frustrations, and critically assess each scenario, but that ignores the human element of having had to live through the experience and how individual interactions will affect different people in various ways. The point is, to judge how others have handled an emotionally charged experience would be really arrogant and ignorant of me.

Fun movie. Just a nice rom-com about a tall girl (which, coming from Europe, really isn't THAT tall). Jodi is a very likable character, she and her best friend Dunkleman kind of carry this movie. Plotwise it's very predictable but in this genre I really don't mind.
I had a good sunday evening watching this.

A very odd premise for a film, it was mediocre.

I pronounce this movie officially ridiculous.

Definitely aimed at a coming of age audience trying to find their way in a world where they feel different. Nothing special in the treatment of the premise. I give the film a 6 (okay) out of 10. [Young Romance Dramedy]

I liked that this contained the message of loving yourself for who you are but I don't think it was carried out in the best way. This movie does contain positives, for example Ava Michelle actually shows pretty decent acting as does the majority of the rest of the cast. I was slightly cringed out by Sabrina Carpenter's acting techniques in this role but it was still bearable. My main issue is that I don't think this movie should of been a romance, if the directors had went more for a coming of age teen drama about a girl trying to find her inner confidence I think it would of worked a lot better. Having said that though this movie is watchable - just not a favourite.

I liked the concept of the movie. Like the struggles of the tall girl, a Swedish guy who wants to fit in, a sibling who makes you feel useless and the tall girl ending up with a short guy... These are interesting toppings. But it could have been made so much better.

Never reaches the heights of the greatest high school movies, but thanks to a likeable group of characters, this is good enough.

If you take away the height subplot there's nothing really new or different about this movie. It's your standard "awkward Girl has a crush on a popular boy who lies and she has a good male friend who has a crush on _her_ plus the mean girl who likes the male crush is being mean for _reasons_ and then stuff at prom happens and Girl changes and is only then finally happy with herself" teen rom-com. Bleh.
