I haven't written a review in a while, but this film really made me want to again because it was really good and I was shocked by it. The film revolves around Saddam Hussein's son who was very unstable, to say the least, and wanted to have a double who is basically the polar opposite of him in every way. Really I have to commend Dominic Cooper (Latif Yahia / Udah Hussein) who is just incredible in this film and did such a great job portraying both men, never did I feel confused which person I was watching as he portrays the unstable/sadistic Udah perfectly but also plays the innocent man put in a horrible situation like a pro, the reason I am giving him so much credit is because I have never found him that amazing as an actor but this movie proved me wrong.

The movie itself is pretty good as well as I never felt bored and always wanted to know what was gonna happen next, all of the side characters play their roles perfectly as well but this film to me is the perfect late-night film with a captivating performance from Dominic Cooper.

If you are stranded for movie ideas one night, I urge you to give this a try as I think you won't regret it.

I was very impressed with Dominic Cooper's performances and the central premise was compelling enough, especially given it's alleged basis in truth. Unfortunately, the movie goes off the rails in the final act, with a ridiculous (and sometimes puzzling) sequence that reeks of Hollywood embellishment. On top of that, the filmmaking suffers from some likely-intentional but still cheap feeling color grading and editing.

I like Dominic Cooper acting, he captured Uday personality to a great extent. But as Iraqi who lived in Jordan , filming Jordanian locations to be stand in for iraq always takes me off. Jordan is very different than iraq geographically, and on top of that they showed some Amman landmarks as if they are Iraqi. And the whole story is bogus, not a single source came forward to corroborate his story even 20 years after sadam and uday death. Yet the movie done a good job of weaving some true events into this fictional story.
