Flamin' Hot is a sizzling cinematic delight which is subtle, feel-good and heartwarming.

My Rating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (85/100)

Flamin' Hot is a delightfully written , inspiring true story of a janitor Richard Montañez , who revolutionized the snacking industry by channeling his mexican heritage to develop the Flamin Hot lineup in the Frito-Lay's range of snacks. The film beautifully transcends us to the 1990s , and gives us the taste of the flamboyant mexican vibes. With a hilarious screenplay and charming drama, Flamin Hot may be devoid of all the actual facts but it certainly sets itself apart from the regular boring biographies out there. Its presentation is what makes it delightfully entertaining. The organic relationship between Richard and his wife and also the tustle with own father all contribute to a heartfelt drama.

Jesse Garcia is the heart of the film and he delivers a solid act. The innoncence and naivety he displays is both beautiful and heartfelt. Annie Gonsalez provides the rock solid support to Jesse as his wife and she is one beautiful actress who can act. The music, imaginary screenplays and the emotional conflicts of the film truly works in its favour.

Overall, a feel-good, heartwarming ode to a revolutionary man whose journey is inspiring on how he held on to his roots and took pride in his identity. I am reading that the facts shownin the are not entirely true but do I really care ? If a movie makes you feel good while inspiring you then its a film worth your time.

Well as I've seen others done I'll congratulate Eva Longoria for being more than just a pretty face in front of the camera. She did a solid job directing this behind it as well. This is an entertaining narrative about one of our modern Urban Legends. The Janitor who created Flamin' Hot Cheetos.

It's a good movie you feel for Richard and you cheer him on every step as he makes decisions that work for him. Annie Gonzalez's Judy wasn't bad. Kinda empty mostly except when she had to support Jesse Garcia's Richard. There is where she really shined. I think they have pretty good chemistry together. I'd totally watch her in more things.

It takes a while to get going and it has better moments than others, but overall it's fine. The humor has some funny points and some not so much. Lots of stereotypes of Mexicans from the point of view of the USA, and propaganda about the American dream. Total advertising for PepsiCo and all its products.

In an era of biopics, this one will get lost in the shuffle. It has good moments and is generally solid, it just does little to stand above the rest.

Rating: 3/5 - 75% - Worth Watching

It really was just a plain fun Netflix type of movie, do not except much not even accuracy as i've read the whole story and how inaccurate it is but it is entertaining and funny.

Like every year, Diane Warren makes sure that, as an Oscar completionist, you have to watch a movie that you might otherwise not have had on your watchlist. I really don't know why the Academy likes her so much, especially since she never wins anyway. The songs are hardly ever a big standout. Be that as it may, at least 'Flamin' Hot' is not a total disaster like the last Oscar films with songs by Warren. To be honest, the movie is actually entertaining to some extent, even if it lacks a bit of depth. As a so-called 'true story', the movie is absolutely useless, but the message of the feel-good plot is definitely pretty clear. However, in the end, it's not much more than that.

As for the Oscar-nominated song 'The Fire Inside', I can only say that I find it quite generic. And besides, I just don't like it when songs are nominated that are only featured in the credits of the movie. Because in that case, the impact on the mood of the film is nonexistent.

I thought it was a decent fun underdog movie. I googled him of course after and learned he didn't actually have anything to do with creating Flamin Hot and this was all fake and lies. Why even try to come off like this and create a whole movie? Weird world we live in.
