I can't believe it took me 6 years after buying the DVD to finally get around to watching this.
Completely exceeded all expectations and now a new favourite of mine!!!
Maria Bello is the star for me, she is jaw-dropping in this, phew!

A fantastic movie that is different to most others I enjoy. It's very lighthearted and although not truly believable just a very fun movie.

'Coyote Ugly' is solid cheese and I'm here for it. There's nothing all that noteworthy to say about this, you'll either enjoy it or you won't; I doubt there's much middle ground. For me, it works. It's well paced and well acted, the music is well chosen too - s/o LeAnn Rimes.

I'm pretty sure I've seen this before when I was younger, so long ago that I hadn't had it logged on here. I can't say I totally remembered it whilst watching, though many of the scenes did feel familiar and I recalled the main cast. Speaking of which, Piper Perabo is good as lead. Maria Bello, John Goodman and Adam Garcia are also solid.

Just discovered that this has the same director as Kangaroo Jack. David McNally really made these two classics and ducked out of the industry, what a rockstar.

A must-see classic with a brilliant John Goodman and Piper Perabo. Cool, hip and moving.

An absolute classic imo. Nice story and execution but the real star is definitely the music.

Incredibly fun and wildly entertaining, Coyote Ugly is an irresistible guilty pleasure. Somehow the film’s able to mix exploitation with sentiment and romance. The story follows a young girl named Violet who leaves home and heads off to New York City to become a songwriter, but when she’s unable to make it she takes a job at a seedy bar to make ends meet. Featuring Piper Perabo, Maria Bello, Bridget Moynahan, and John Goodman, the casting is pretty good. Perabo especially, as she has tremendous chemistry with her co-stars and is able to exude an innocent naiveté. And, the soundtrack adds a lot of energy and excitement to the film. On the surface Coyote Ugly is sexually gratuitous and trashy, but underneath there’s a charming story about chasing one’s dreams and overcoming fears.

I remember watching this back in the day as a kid and thinking "girls dancing at a bar!" and now rewatching this I realize it really wasn't as raunchy as I had remembered. Typical story of a small town girl trying to find her place in the world. Points for having comic book references in it!
