I am in the first 20 minutes and I can say that it is a very good movie, I cannot believe that I waited several years to see this gem from the early 2000s.
I really enjoyed this movie! I was familiar with the legend, and this movie was well written in regards to the legend.
Very well done, slow adventure monster hunt. Perfectly captures the period with costumes, design, locations.. everything really. Pleasantly surprised!
Mark Dacascos steals the show, so it isn’t as good when he isn’t in it. Since he also had the more interesting character.
The only thing that aged badly is the cgi beast. Everything else is top notch.
I quite enjoyed this one. I felt it was very well done.
Epic French period crime thriller that is just a little too long in general.
>"A silver bullet? Are you afraid of werewolves?"
This film felt more like a play, with different themes throughout. I was surprised to see martial arts in it, but it definitely added to the many themes used. A bit long, but the ending was worth it.
I love the movie and an English dubbed version would have been good, for 2 1/2 hours the movies drags on a little.
Please comment but only if you hate yourself and have the ability to prove your stupidity with your absurd words.
The movie starts as a story of a Parisian scientist hunting a supernatural beast in Pre-Revolutionary France. Then it morphs into a spy story with a plot gone wrong involving the Pope. Somewhere along the line a Last-of-the-Mohicans type of sub-story shows up. And let's not overlook the French Revolution --- because that too must make an appearance. Don't forget martial arts and the kitchen sink! --- because it totally makes sense that the French in 1700s knew all about kung-fu.
The plot for this movie is simply horrendous, wandering all over the place without focus. I cannot understand why people like it as much as they do. Is it the gratuitous nudity? This film simply has no redeeming qualities.
