I’m a big fan of the franchise since the original I watched as a young kid(which truly petrified me). There’s never been a better horror since ‘74. I was scared all this cgi crap in current movies would destroy this, but no this was great to sit back and enjoy. In fact I’m away to watch it again. Halloween in general has been crap apart from the original and the reboots bad, but this is head and shoulders above all of them. The bloodiest TCM there’s ever been & you get to see leather face without the mask. Even without the franchise I’d give this an 8, but because it’s TCM I’m giving it a 10 and can’t wait for the further 3 movies to come. These low ratings are only because people are comparing this to the original which is the greatest horror of all time.
10/10
All Gold
and an absolute treat for
my 31 days of Horror.
NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.
THIS WAS SUPER FRICKIN AWESOME AND FINALLY DID THE 2003 AND 2006 AND THE FRANCHISE IN GENERAL JUSTICE. I AM VERY VERY HAPPY TO SAY THAT THE 2003/2006 ARE THE BEST OF THE FRANCHISE AND
MY PERSONAL FAVOURITES
AND NOW I CAN ADD
THE NETFLIX 2022
TO THAT SHORT LIST.
WOW...JUST...WOW
WHAT A RIDE THIS ONE WAS
AND CERTAINLY
DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
DID IT HAVE FLAWS AND PLOT HOLES YES BUT MY GOD IT MORE THAN MADE UP FOR IT FOR THE KICK ASS BLOODY GORY AWESOME MOVIE WE GOT.
LEATHER FACE IS THE SMARTEST IN THIS THAN
ANY OTHER TEXAS MOVIE,
HE'S ACTUALLY A THINKER AS WELL
AS BRUTE FORCE AND I LIKED THAT VERY MUCH,
ALSO HE USES THAT CHAINSAW IN THIS
IN WAYS HE HAS NEVER DONE BEFORE
AND I LOVED THAT.
EVERYBODY PLAYED THEIR PART TO A 'T'
AND FOR A CHANGE NOBODY ANNOYED ME,
IN FACT I WAS ROOTING FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.
X FINAL THOUGHT:
NETFLIX HAVE OUTDONE THEM SELVES WITH THIS ONE AND I AM LOOKING VERY MUCH FORWARD TO WATCHING IT AGAIN AND AGAIN NOW THAT I OWN IT ON BLU RAY. I LOVED HOW THEY GAVE ME
A FAMILIAR STORY TO DRAW ME IN AT THE BEGINNING THEN OFF WE GO BOOM.
IN THIS MOVIE LEATHER FACE CLOCKS UP
THE HIGHEST BODY COUNT TO DATE THAN ANY OTHER "TCM" MOVIE
(THANK-YOU FOR THAT),
THE DEATHS IN THIS MOVIE
WERE AMAZING AND VERY VERY
SATISFYING, AS BRUCE (ASH) SAYS
"NOTHING LIKE A GOOD SHOT
TO THE FACE TO GET THE JUCIES
FLOWING", AND THIS SENSATIONAL
MOVIE GOT MY JUICES FLOWING.
LEATHER FACE IS BACK IN 2022 AND BETTER THAN EVER AND WE HAVE NETFLIX TO THANK FOR GIVING HIM A PLATFORM TO REV HIS CHAINSAW AND SHINE BRIGHTER THAN EVER BEFORE.
MORE......"HELLA YEAH".
It's a slasher. Just turn off your brain and enjoy the gore. It's pretty good.
"Don't try anything or you're canceled brah" - Gen Z when a serial killer attacks.
Nice Terminator 2 moment when the girl from the first is awesome and gets all badass to get some revenge.
**While it’s definitely better than a lot of the sequels, this left a lot to be desired.**
As a fan of the original film, I found the tie-in too tacked on, felt like an afterthought rather than part of the plot. Also, not sure why it was so short, but it could have used more time to draw out some suspense.
It’s still worth watching though, at least once.
I'm not American, nor do I live in that country. However, Netflix is on the money producing a slasher movie featuring smug first-world Leftists getting massacred. There's a worldwide demand for that, we assure you. That bus scene was pure gold!
**This is part of my 2022 HORROR Fridays**
I've never been the biggest Texas Chainsaw Massacre fan, but this one was actually quite fun. Good kills, and a rather satisfying ending. I don't think the other TCM movies were this bloody, but that might be my bad memory at play. Too bad most of that blood is CGI.
The real satisfaction in this version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre comes in the form of those hipster, gentrifying, know-it-all shitheads getting their comeuppance. I like the one that survive, though. There's one kill I don't particularly like, but I guess it just had to be like that. And no...I'm not talking about the final kill.
Anyway...I liked it, although I have a sneaking suspicion that it will divide the fans of the TCM franchise.
Surprised by the 55% average. Not nearly as woke as I was expecting from the trailer. Gnarly kills. Great cinematography. Goofy characters and plot, but definitely worth watching for any slasher film fan. Plus it’s barely 80min. So you’ll breeze through it.
Certainly not on the level of the original, but among the sequels, it is fairly watchable. If the words "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" weren't on the film, I think a lot more people could enjoy it for the big, dumb slasher flick it is.
It was alright. Wasn’t amazing but wasn’t garbage. Acting was alright, ending was a bit meh.
