Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Several generations following Caesar's reign, apes – now the dominant species – live harmoniously while humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. A cinematic experience for a masterpiece of epic proportions.
I’m sorry I cannot get any of bad reviews, maybe they expected something else like the misadvertised war for the planet of the apes.
I got tears, goosebumps, two fantastic comedy lines, and a wholesome captivating story.

War, was my favorite, now they both are. Both will stay in history.

I thought to myself, "no one will ever be able to top Caesar" and I was right. However, Noa is a pretty decent and the writing for his character was so good by the end I knew he is a great protagonist. The emotions and non verbal communication (like the little looks and such) are very well done (Godzilla x Kong has a bit more of this and done a lot better), the writers definitely know how to write the villain apes. The villain in this movie was done better than the villain for the last one.

After the Apes trilogy, there was already a standard when it came to cgi characters. This, however, sets an entirely new benchmark. This is the first time that the uncanny valley was entirely broken for me, personally. In fact, it made me quite emotional to see just how awesome it is. To convincingly make cgi characters live and breathe in the world, not only in land, but in the water as well is simply breathtaking.

I also especially loved the slow build of the first half, where Noa learns about the world and its history. This new old world opening up for him, having to shed his own mythology of it was just wonderful. Around the halfway point, it loses its track a little bit. It felt a bit too forceful. Yet, the dichotomy between man and ape was frustrating in a good way. I wish both species would learn to live together and humans would stop claiming everything as their own.

Loved it, but I am a huge fan of the entire series. SFXs were great, and as usual, the performances of the apes was more compelling than those damn dirty humans.

They used fairly predictable formula, but I still liked how they placed it “many generations “ in the future. That allowed them to do some interesting things. Again, ignore any practical thinking like “so, how did they maintain power for many generations??” And just enjoy the story, the humanity and well written apes!

I do like how they always leave every instalment open for another one. Apes in Space anyone? Hopefully that’ll be better than Jason X.

All series are good in their own way, this movie was also very good. Of course, I got bored of some scenes. I even watched some scenes in fast forward. There was always a family drama to some extent. In my opinion, it is neither a very good nor a very bad movie, it is right in the middle. I used to like it, now either the movie has changed or we are old😢 Anyway, thank you for your effort, it is a good movie in this genre. Definitely watch it.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was a great experience. The ending was brilliant IMHO. It also makes the reboot saga timeline more believable than the originals. We can finally get away from the Time Travel narrative of the originals. I'm not saying the originals were bad. However, they just felt too over the top with the writers using time travel as an easy plot device to go from one sequel to another. I can't wait to see the next sequel in the reboot timeline. Hope it's not too far away.

_Ape ride horse._

Putting aside the fact that they named the movie wrong, this was absolutely phenomenal!
