A nuanced and decisively less gimmicky entry to the Gundam franchise that tells a quality and ultimately grounded story. The themes are explored with enough integrity and confidence for the story to stand firm as a singular entry, making it more than just a solid addition to the franchise but also a great feature film in general.

Nice animation, CGI, and action, but I did not understand the story at all. Felt like getting into a series in the 5th season.

Good story, good acting, really nice character animation, but I despise when they lace in real life images/video into the the animation. I think it's lazy and just rips me out of the story into reality when I see it. Otherwise this was a solid start.
