Clown in a Cornfield

Quinn and her father have just moved to the quiet town of Kettle Springs hoping for a fresh start. Instead, she discovers a fractured community that has fallen on hard times after the treasured Baypen Corn Syrup Factory burned down. As the locals bicker amongst themselves and tensions boil over, a sinister, grinning figure emerges from the cornfields to cleanse the town of its burdens, one bloody victim at a time.

I was tempted to keep scrolling. Instead I hit play. Best decision. This movie was so much fun!

"I hate you Quinn."
"Me too."

I had a ton of fun with this movie. I knew nothing about it and there are some nice twists and reveals. Love all the vibes this brings and it made me laugh out loud at one point. Shout outs to Eli Craig, back in Tucker and Dale form

A fun slasher movie, that while not bad, does not stand out from other similar movies. Once I would like to see how it would look like when intelligent people face agains a killer, but not this time.

Clown In a Cornfield was a really dumb movie and wasn't scary in the slightest bit, but I did think it was entertaining and it had some cool sequences. I'd probably give it a 7.5 or 8/10

I’m completely unfamiliar with the books this film is based on, but I went into this almost completely blind and had a good time. ‘Clown in a Cornfield’ doesn’t do anything new with the horror genre (in fact, it follows a lot of horror tropes throughout its hour and a half runtime), but it manages to be a very fun time at the movies. Genre fans should definitely check it out.

68/100

Look. It's nothing new to the genre, but it is a halfway good time. A major problem is that it doesn't know whether to be a comedy horror or just a horror slasher. There's nothing to be excited for, but it is a good watch if you're folding clothes or something.

Good old-fashioned slashers never get old for horror fans as long as they're done right, and Clown in the Cornfield is like a fresh splatter into the head, with a smile.

I actually liked the teen drama aspect more than the Horror aspect. The performances are actually decent.
Why doesn’t anyone care that the bad guy got away. Or why wasn’t he ever mentioned again ? This is a book series apparently but it does a bad job getting us to want more.
The killer appearing as soon as someone played the jack in the box makes you think something supernatural was going on. It turning out to be normal people doesn’t entirely work. Since normal people could just appear there ?

Does it follow the standard tropes, yeah....sure...but it does it in a fun way. The writers figured out a way to blend the old school slasher film with some modern takes. Some of the beast points, I think went a little too fast, but I think they did that to keep the flow going and keep the runtime down.

Good, not great - but enjoyable.

I was really looking forward to this, and it was fun enough but not as fun as I wanted and expected it to be. The killer reveal was one of the more obvious I've seen.
