Concrete Utopia

The world has been reduced to rubble by a massive earthquake. While no one knows for sure how far the ruins stretch, or what the cause of the earthquake may be, in the heart of Seoul there is only one apartment building left standing. It is called Hwang Gung Apartments. As time passes, outsiders start coming in to Hwang Gung Apartments trying to escape the extreme cold. Before long, the apartment residents are unable to cope with the increasing numbers. Feeling a threat to their very survival, the residents enact a special measure.

Seoul destroyed in an epic earthquake, leaving only one concrete high-rise standing. However, this story transcends concrete and earthquakes; it delves into humanity, morals, the descent into survival-driven darkness, and the formation of power in society, suppressing human nature. Totally recommended.

A very good dystopia movie! First of all it is not an earthquake, you will notice that on the film, such an event will not explain the lack of government. Very god moral story and what people will do to survive, a though provocative film that can really be identified like the immigrants' situation.
At the beginning it starts and seams like a comedy with the funny music but it evolves fast in a dark and morale movie. I nice Korean attempt.

Inconsistent, uneven and most annoying with lighting and colour temperatures, poor CGI and other technicalities aside, it's a surprisingly honest take on the ugly side of survival and tribalism in a post apocalyptic scenario.

Residents of Russian human settlements take note! If a disaster happens, then everyone will be for themselves. The more residents, the fewer resources. A good drama about how civilization is like eggshells, and hunger and fear will find you. And there is no beast worse than man.But only he will help

Well done on every level but really nothing original.

The decors and the (short) destruction scenes are great. The characters and drama are good though totally predictable.

As for the general story, it's really exactly what you expect from a post apocalyptic survival movie. There is really nothing new, people behave exactly how you would expect, there is not a single original idea there. This is pure cliche of the genre.

An average apocalyptic film about how human nature can change in a dystopian world after a global earthquake disaster, or more precisely, what human beings can do. In the words of the film; in such an environment, a new life where the priest and the thief, the bottom and the top are now equal.

If I'm not mistaken, a professor said, "After the Istanbul earthquake, they will neither be able to get in nor get out." The film prompts us to think about this. Yes, we live with ideals while living an ordinary life, but will we be able to stay close to our ideals as the conditions get harder?

It is a good film, but it is overlong and has fictional problems. Especially the earthquake scenes are something strange like a tsunami. I think a planet should hit the earth for such an earthquake. It would be a better film if another disaster was chosen instead of an earthquake.

Unrealistic dialogue and behaviour from the characters at certain points. Like when they are arguing about who owns their apartment, acting like the apocalypse never happened. I get this small-mindedness is a commentary on contemporary society but I also feel this ruined the potential of the story. The outside world is hardly explored and it's only at the very end we see what it's like outside the craziness of the complex.
