Lots of stars in this and more interesting than I expected. Plenty of twists and actually very well written. Honestly, I went in expecting a 6 or 7 at best, maybe less. But I love the compelling scripts that deal with the Orwellian societial concepts. Christian Bale is actually fantastic, not surprising, but again, the movie just surprises how good it was. The only thing really that missed was the ending, not completely, just the very last few seconds. But I think some would like it just the way it is and give it a 10, although that's really where it got the 9. That and the very beginning started off a little slow, missing something minor. Sci Fi fans will be thrilled.

The was the first time I had seen a movie with knowing absolutely noting about it. It was a great surprise and one of my favorite movies. This is what I would call a smart action movie. As an action movie it shouldn't be taken too seriously and the premise may be hard to swallow but underneath it is a story about the human spirit and some of the most spectacular action sequences you will ever see.

Equilibrium is a smart and well-crafted science fiction thriller. In a dystopian future where emotion is outlawed and suppressed by the State a cleric charged with rooting out dissidents begins to experience emotion and has a crisis of conscience. The story deals with interesting questions about what makes a person alive and the purpose of the law. Featuring Christian Bale, Emily Watson, and Taye Diggs, the casting is quite good and delivers strong performances. Additionally, the choreography for the fight sequences is outstanding, and adds a lot of excitement and energy to the film. Still, there are some formulaic and stereotypical parts that detract a bit. Yet while it has its flaws, Equilibrium is a powerful and thrilling science fiction adventure.

Equilibrium is a very entertaining Sci-fi thriller set in the near future within a cool dystopian world that is quite interesting with awesome action sequences with the new battle technique of "gun-kata" which is similar to some of the matrix techniques but entirely new and it works quite well as it looks FUCKING AWESOME and very entertaining to watch. Equilibrium reveals some answers about the meaning of life and shows us some ways to prevent all war and conflict leaves us questioning if it is worth it. This film also makes us appreciate the little things in our lives and how awesome everything is. Christian Bale was the perfect choice for the leading role, much like in "American Psycho" Bale plays a emotionless and senseless character which he does amazingly because of his main goal to become the character and perfect the role. Overall Great film with many unforgettable scenes.

It's been forever since I've seen this movie and it was great watching again. The final fight scenes definitely felt like a precursor to Kurt Wimmer's following movie, Ultraviolet.

“Was gona go to sleep, decided to give this a watch. Basically a revamp of Fahrenheit 451...also the second highest on-screen kill count to-date.”
