I laughed hysterically throughout the entire movie. It’s the perfect comedy. No notes.

This movie has terrible ratings - but I’m just gonna say it. I liked it.

I thought it was creative. It took the concept of War of the Worlds and added a new age tech feel. It was shown from computer scenes (like John Cho’s Searching! … but not as good).

It wasn’t realistic. And you really shouldn’t go in thinking it would be like the original (or even previous remakes). Don’t even go into it with any preconceived notions. And if you’re willing to, suspend your beliefs. If you do, I promise you are way more likely to enjoy this.

This movie can be downright entertaining if you allow it.

It isn’t as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Is it the best movie? No? But it was okay. Coming from an ethical hacker/cybersecurity specialist, I enjoyed it a bit more than others might have. Although, it does have some parts that leave me going, really??

Amazon could really dial back on the promos here though…we get it…it’s your production but geez.

I need to revise my last comment...

There are MANY mentions of Amazon throughout the movie. I'm at 1:11 and the mention of "Prime Air" was not the least but relevant or subtly inserted.

I'm not generally a sci-fi person, but I am finding this interesting and am engaged.

Not as bad as some comments here would make you believe. It is a weirdly modified version of War of the Worlds. I agree with the negative comments related to that aspect. However, the Cyber and Tech part of the movie was really good and that kept me interested. Your mileage may vary.

Well I enjoyed it. Okay, it's not the best movie ever made but I thought it was original and definitely worth a watch (probably only once though).

War of the Worlds (2025) – 6/10

Disturbing scenes at the beginning.
It was unsettling how easily people could just watch what was happening, as if it were normal.

We know that not everything shown is realistic — hijacking something like that shouldn’t be that easy.

Even with such power, he couldn’t save anyone.

He tried, but failed — and somehow that felt good because government is so weak.

I recognized one actor from Barbershop, and Clark Gregg from Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I don’t understand why it has such low ratings on websites. Probably because of brands and ads of them.

It seems there’s also an older version — maybe from 1993 — but this one is very different.

Some moments were sad, like the scene about losing memories — especially the Facebook-related scenes.

Yes, they’re just digital things, but the movie shows how easily we can lose what matters.
It gives a good message about how fragile everything is.

In the end, it suggests the U.S. will start respecting privacy — but of course, that’s a lie.

It all takes place over just a few hours, mostly in that DHS room.

I liked the movie. I know it’s not perfect, but it had something meaningful.

So bad, that its good?

I thought the surveillance stuff was spot on, Ice Cube acting wasn't good though. On top of that there is so much Amazon circle jerking in this one. I honestly think this movie would be ok, if it wasn't associated with War of the Worlds by HG and was its own thing, and the blatant product placement is just hilarious.

This seems to be filmed in the COVID era, I wonder why they waited until now to release this?

Also the Goliath operation sounds cool, but a more apt name would have been Panoptes.

It's OK to pass the time. Brain in neutral and enjoy. Interesting take on the value of DATA!
