David Lynch creates a peculiar world, close to a dream or nightmare, with a unique hypnotic vision. The story is excellent, well-structured and full of tension. The cinematography is fascinating, reflecting this dreamlike atmosphere through blurred images, intense colors and striking costumes. The characters are especially intriguing and unique, all well-developed with peculiar and very eccentric actions. All the elements work fluidly, contributing to an immersive experience.

This was a lot of fun. Im a big fan of kyle maclachlan so ive been wanting to see this for a while. It was completely captivating as lynch films always are. The score was brilliant and i swear i heard something reminiscent of the twin peaks red room theme, which made it even more clear that angelo was doing the composition again. It was a beautiful film and the time really flew by, with plenty of suspense and a great mystery.

"Don't toast to my health, toast to my fuck!"

That one scene is so damn uncomfortable, it would have been less uncomfortable if I was watching it alone but during that one scene my girlfriend came home. How do you explain something like that? I don't think that it is possible.

I went in without knowing anything about Blue Velvet expect for the uniqueness of David Lynch's work. So I did expect an experience and boy did I get one! The whole scene with Jeffrey (Kyle Maclachlan) inside the closet was so tense. Dennis Hopper in this one is such an experience. He is sooo good. So intense. Incredible. The same can be said about Isabella Rossellini. She is so good as Dorothy. As the mystery unravels you will still be glued to your screen. With an incredible soundtrack and with so many beautiful shots you just can't look away.

Blue Velvet is only my second David Lynch movie after Eraserhead. I have seen Twin Peaks but I rewatch is on the horizon. David Lynch is a legend and will never be forgotten. He brought so much and he will be missed.

I don’t think it needed to go that over the top with some of the performances, but besides that I think this works on every level. The visuals, music and pacing of this film have aged incredibly well, I get what it’s going for thematically and it manages to thrill on a level few filmmakers can. It also seems like a good starting point for the Lynch catalogue if you ask me, it’s one of his more accessible films. Almost feels like it’s directed by a perverted Hitchcock.

One of the best mystery movies I have ever seen. Watching this movie, you can't doubt - or so I think - that Lynch was influenced by Kubrick's The Shining: The surreal pastel colors notorious in Dorothy Vallens' room, the room where the child is being held, Detective Tom Gordon's yellow suit ... The symmetrical planes and frontal perspectives that Kubrick abused throughout the career and that proved to be useful for creating tension due to the feeling of unreality they generate… In short, a masterpiece, above Eyes Wide Shut also by Kubrick.

The only man on the planet who could pull something like this off. A perfect mix of dark comedy and damn right creepy.

The film was way better than I thought it was going to be. I do prefer Twin Peaks out of the two
