This movie is great.
For people who are expecting action and violence it might be a disappointment, although almost an entire species is annihilated. This is the first time I'm curious for the mental condition of the writer of a the book. In a possitive way.
What is normal in psychology? The boy acting is perfect for a person diagnosed with Asperger an autism related disorder / evolution (depends on your opinion). The way of thinking is precisely portraited and even the naivity when it comes to trusting people. Expecting them to reason the same way and being honest.

Casting was bad..it wasn't a kid's character..could've been way better..good writing..
Our brain has been pressed to evolve and change enormously over the last centuries. The selection mechanism has been over population and war, so it's logical to think these disorders are just a manifestation of selection by nature. The Darwin rule still applies "survival of the fittest".
Although, in the beginning of the film one might think the boy is violent, you will get your answer about his mental state when he looks funny at the zero gravity situation and his reaction on getting the least favorite place to sleep.
Solving the problem is not always the smartest thing to do. Would human kind ever have invented the atomic bomb if E=m*c^2 was kept a secret? Acting without having all the variables lead to poor results. That's why the end of the movie is as it is and the title of the film is Enders GAME.
A promise made = a new rule to follow
This story has a huge opportunity to have a sequel and pre-sequel.
Something something sci-fi, aliens attacked the Earth in the past but were fend off, and now it is the time, 50 years later, to defeat them the proper way.
In order to do so, youths are trained on various stations to find the best persons for the job, competing in various games and VR against each other or virtualized aliens fleets.
I felt the plot was somewhat foreseeable in essence, and the martial arts training just felt weird in retroperspective - it was never important to have that skill versus the aliens at all!
It felt somewhat cringe to have a bunch of 14yo save humanity.
Rating: 9.5/10
I want to highlight this strictly my rating of how I personally enjoyed the movie, despite the flaws outlined above. I can fully understand anyone not agreeing with it.
"Fun" fact: The editor of the book is a homophobe. According to statements of the movie's crew, they have not been aware of that.
Kids being adults...
Very good
Que buena película y rica visualmente, la recomiendo..
Better than I anticipated. Expected a few things differently, but overall - loved it.
I’ve not read the book so I don’t know how much they had to condense to make the movie but I think they captured a jewel of a concept. Is the right course to decimate to survive or is there a greater way? If we choose the first course is there anything left of our humanity worthy of survival? I imagine this was a great book, it made Orson Scott Card a New York Times bestselling author and went on to become a classic Hugo and Nebula award-winning science fiction novel (I must see if I can find it as an audible book). The movie aged the main character from a 6 year old boy to a teenager, which was probably necessary for practical cinematic demands, as well as to make a character to which an audience could relate. The casting and performances were good. The CGI was convincing. But, my high marks are for the premise itself, well executed. I give this film a 9 (compelling) out of 10. [SciFi Action Adventure]
I read the book first before watching the movie and I think that for the most part, this movie represented the book as well as you could within the confines of a two hour movie. Considering there is no other adaption of this source material I think this movie did the book justice. Sure, there were quite a bit of sub story-lines removed but that is understandable when your adapting a book into a movie. I believe that the movie got the major essential portions of the book right, to tell the complete story of the Ender's Game. I think in time people's resistance to the movie will fade and they will realized that the movie did the book justice. I see people are talking about some scenes are rushed which is true, but if we see it from Ender's point of view, he was always isolated from the emotions of others throughout book, and I think the movie represented that well. The visual effects within the movie is simply top notch, which I see most people won't even mention, and it deserves a discussion, because it could have been way worst instead it was done masterfully. In my opinion I enjoyed this movie even after reading the book before watching the movie! I would hope that the team can get back together to bring us the rest of tetralogy. What do you think?
This simply needed a proper series, not a movie, made by a competent team. Still a good movie, but it feels so rushed and shallow compared to the books.
