I love this movie so much. A completely bad ass lead slashes her way through some bad guys and a few great twists. I don't understand why people have a problem with the ending. The ending is amazing!! Seriously, I don't know why Sharni Vinson isn't in a million horror films by now. Also....of course, I can't not mention the original horror icon, and my personal favorite, the one and only Barbara Crampton. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Wow ! Incredible à very nice movie not à simple Horror/slasher.
A good surprise ! Love this movie
> I stuck a blender in his head and killed him.
> Oh... ok.
What an incredible movie! A must-see in the slasher genre (or horror). It starts off like your regular cliche horror movie, then it takes a turn in a direction that you always hope for but never gets.
We have some really good dialogue lines and the plot is fresh, nice work Barrett. The actors do a good job, especially Sharni Vinson. Erin is one the most badass leading characters in horror for sure. She's super resourceful and really creative at setting traps, killing people and smart planning her next moves. This is what makes me really like this movie, horror is my favorite genre, so we always see stupid people making dumb decisions while we facepalm ourselves. This movie fulfill my requests.
Wingard's directing is pretty good at most of the times, I just think the camera gets too shaky sometimes, and bothers me a bit.
The death's and situations the characters are put in are creative and the special effects are really good.
The soundtrack is amazing, Looking For The Magic by Dwight Twilley Band is such a great song and it fits so well with the film.
Adam Wingard, Scott Barrett and the rest of the crew did a great job. Super fun movie!
You're next is about the daughter of a preper meeting her boyfriend's family for the first time.
She tries to save the sheltered family from serial killers but they freak out and refuse to listen to her leading to their deaths.
Pretty realistic for how most Americans deal with stress. 5/5.
Mild SPOILER:
The plot twist was predictable
Sharni Vinson
home invasion movies are probably some of the best to horror. this movie proves it, the only bad thing was the ending. we have a badass female lead and a plot twist while predictable, had some bits one would not guess. good jump scares, overall amazing movie!
One big killing spree in a home invasion thriller. I normally don't go for these type of movies. I find them too bloody and too predictable but this was amazing. Erin is one fucking badass woman. Must watch for thriller fans. O and that song (you'll know which one) will stick with you for at least a day.
cabin in the woods-ish! twisted and smart is right.
dark humor is the best, and You're Next did it justice, it lets personal touches shine and show the efforts put by the director/writers to make it their baby.
sharni vinson/erin was everything you ever wanted in a heroine, but the side characters were quirky too. I actually liked drake....... aimee & her bf were cute too :( crispian has a cute name and he was fun at the start (while it lasted) and the soundtrack is still playing in the back of my head :)
I only wished I could have watched in the cinemas and gasp/cheer with everyone else!
Home invasion...with a twist. Darkly hilarious at time and one that I find myself thinking about often. I feel this one easily gets lost in the shuffle with other similar movies that came out around the same time (Purge, Strangers, etc), but this is up there with the best of all of its counterparts.
Rating: 4.5/5 - 90% - Highly Recommend
Finally, the great Home Alone sequel we deserve.
