In remote Idaho, Colie and Hollyn embark on a long summer season working as range riders herding cattle. We follow them closely through the immensity of the landscapes and intimate moments of friendship. Emelie Mahdavian masterfully revisits the genre of the western and invites us to rethink the challenge of nomadism from the perspective of two young women.
[VdR'22] An extraordinary western with a female perspective (the one that is recovering a particular look at the genre in recent years), through two cowgirls who move cattle for four months. There's an impressive aesthetic of the landscapes accompanied by a certain poetics with the use of Bach's music, but also an intimacy between two women who adopt the hardness of the work, but face different difficulties than men.
