I honestly barely remembered the first one from 9 years ago, but all I can say is that Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal blew it out of the water. Was not expecting the movie to be this good and action packed in such a good way, and the story unfolded in twisted yet clever ways.

I walked in thinking it was a good movie and left with a fantastic impression, makes me want to rewatch the original from 2016. Just damn good and shouldn't be missed.

Great movie! My only complaint is the 2hrs 12mins long. This movie dragged on. Ben and Jon are just amazing. Yes, besides the 2hrs 12 mins, it is a MUST WATCH.

It’s not as good as the first one and it’s a bit of a popcorn flick. The brotherhood delivers and most of the action is believable. If they made a third one I am still in.

Solid sequel! Great action and Affleck still nails the role. Not as tight as the first one, but still worth watching. 8/10.

Good entertainment. Not as good as first one but enjoyable. And it was awesome to watch The Accountant team up with The Punisher. Worth a watch.

It was very good, unexpectedly good, the first one was fantastic but I was sincerely afraid of this second part not being the same quality as the first one but oh boy, I was so wrong! The chemistry between Jon Bertanhal and Ben Affleck as brothers is amazing, I laughed a lot and enjoyed the plot a lot

I'm grateful that they kept the same actors than the first one even when they are more prominent and probably expensive now, thanks for this amazing movie !

So there are many claims online that this was better than the original. I want to give a reference point, even though I did not write a review for the first. I scored the first at 9.3.

This is about an 8.1. It's not that it's worse than the first. It's good, but if you are expecting something along the lines of the first one, this isn't exactly it. The storyline is different. There's two heroes (or anti-heroes) and the sibling relationship is a large part of the film. That in itself made it really entertaining. It's very fast moving, but not to the point it misses out on the extra plot fillers to make the side stories important also. It's very well written and directed.

Affleck has really become a great actor and Bernthal and he do have phenomenal chemistry. The brothers scenes are truly believable and well acted.

The downside is the very ending for one of the side stories. You'll know at the end. I didn't want to spoil it. For some that might bounce it up, others maybe not.

8.1/10.

The Accountant 2 (2025) – 8/10

Normally I don’t watch movies this recent, but I really liked this one — especially because I loved the original and the Punisher-style character Ben Affleck plays. His character feels like a mix of emotionless focus and silent justice. I also liked seeing Medina again (I think it’s the same actress), and her connection with the "big brother" voice — it was sad and touching to see how much has changed in 8 years. That support system reminded me of older action thrillers with a deeper heart.

It was nice to see these tough characters showing more human sides, like finding a cat, or just looking older and more vulnerable. Even when he's violent (like that cowboy-style kicking scene), he’s still calm and calculated.

There were some parts I didn’t fully understand.
For example, early on a man called "the King" was killed — I think he was the Nazi actor from Oz (TV series). They killed him because he found Edith. But I didn’t get why they didn’t want Edith found in the first place. Who was hiding her?
Also, why did they keep saying "Find the Accountant"? What were they doing with the kids — was it human trafficking? That part felt dark but not fully explained.

At first, I thought the voice helping him was just an AI — turns out it’s AI-powered but not just tech. It was touching and well done.
I also didn’t understand why the Accountant didn’t kill Medina or Raul (the big killer) when he had the chance. Maybe he had reasons we didn’t see.

Another question I had: how did the Accountant realize Raul was also autistic before anyone else? That moment was subtle but powerful.

Overall, it’s a solid sequel with emotional depth and thrilling action. A bit confusing in parts, but still a great watch. 8/10
