Big Eyes

In the late 1950s and early '60s, artist Walter Keane achieves unbelievable fame and success with portraits of saucer-eyed waifs. However, no one realizes that his wife, Margaret, is the real painter behind the brush. Although Margaret is horrified to learn that Walter is passing off her work as his own, she is too meek to protest too loudly. It isn't until the Keanes' marriage comes to an end and a lawsuit follows that the truth finally comes to light.

I really did enjoy this movie. Both Amy and Christoph play fantastic – it was a delight. The story is great and the execution worth watching!

Excellent performances by Amy and Christoph.

Extremely ironic that this story of exploitation of a woman would be not just released by the Weinstein Company (little surprise as it's true of 99% of films, for some odd reason), but was executive produced by the misogynist himself. Apparently Harvey has standing orders to fund all films so he has a stake in their success, but with no knowledge of their subject matter. And that reminds me of Walter Keane.

An award winning movie that I saw in theaters? Rare. What's even more rare and more impressive is this being a Tim Burton movie! I am happy to see his range here, and he absolutely nails it! Not my favorite thing in the world, but a rock solid movie nonetheless.

I can't believe this a true story. It is so bizarre, but I like Amy Adams. She was great.

This is a weird one. Not because it had weird elements, but because if it weren't a "based on a true story" I would have thought it to be too far-fetched.

The acting is good, though, and the ending was great. But the rest is a bit monotonous and the characters are not very empathetic.

A great session of self-analysis: Burton talk about Margaret Ulbrich but think about his firts movies, talk about Walter & Margaret Keane but think about his latests movies... and hope that he can make again good movie off burton'stereotype as the Modigliani like picture of Margaret... Tim you got it (not like BigFish but a very good movie!)
