Upon arriving at a remote cabin in the redwoods, Kath and her boyfriend find a mysterious younger couple already there — the rental has apparently been double-booked. Pretty low key movie, but charming in its own way.

could've been a lot better, especially in the sci-fi department; that just felt completely shoehorned in, and all the ideas you think might be the explanation for what's going on end up being better than the real one. i loved the cast, though! it just feels like they didn't have a whole lot to work with.
also, i know it was entirely out of the realm of possibility for the character, but it would've been hysterical if winona's character really did just want that treatment. so the fact that it was just a strategy to escape was almost disappointing.
No tension, no suspence and no thrills. Although this is filled with a great cast none of the performances stood out. The idea behind the story was a good one but it wasn't executed well and you're left thinking - is that it?

It seems written from the twist of the script, a more or less unexpected conclusion reached through a bland development. Regardless, the quest that Winona Ryder's character begins is intriguing, and prompts a need to know more. But the structure in flashback, following that of the podcast on which the series "Homecoming" (2018) was based, which was written by director Eli Horowitz, further complicates the story rather than unraveling it, and by the time it reaches the end, not only is it impossible to live up to expectations, but ends up being particularly disappointing.

I have no idea what this movie wanted to be, but whatever it was, I didn't like it. I feel like I completely wasted my night.

A rather dull non thrilling thriller. This was a real effort to go through. This film is a strange mixture of relationship drama, sci-fi and mystery thriller. The drama is dull, the science part is questionable, the mystery is not terribly interesting. the whole thing is completely lacking in thrills, I'm afraid it falls short in all attempts. Scenes just go on and on without any energy. Some of the reveals are also strangely underbaked, resulting in way less impact than what the film is clearly hoping for. For those who like their thrillers without thrills, I guess.
