The truth is that I really liked the movie, the music, the fight choreography, the story, the costumes, everything in the movie, there wasn't a minute that I got bored, they put a lot of effort into it. The truth is that the film deserves an Oscar, it's a shame that critics haven't received it well, but it's a very good film, I wouldn't take anything away from it, nor add anything to it, as it is it's perfect.

A biographical film about one of boxing’s true greats – George Foreman. The story is delivered with warmth and accessibility, evoking the spirit of classic feel-good sports dramas. But despite this tone, there are certain missteps that deserve to be acknowledged.

Foreman participated in at least three legendary, media-covered fights – yet only one of them is given reasonable weight in the film. His stunning victory against Joe Frazier in The Sunshine Showdown (Kingston, Jamaica, 1973) is barely mentioned, even though it was covered by The Ring, Sports Illustrated, and The New York Times. Likewise, The Rumble in the Jungle against Muhammad Ali (1974) – arguably the most iconic fight in boxing history – is treated far too briefly. (If you haven’t seen it, the documentary When We Were Kings from 1996 is a must-watch.)

Foreman’s historic comeback win against Michael Moorer, making him the oldest heavyweight champion in history, is acknowledged but dealt with far too simply and quickly. As a result, the film loses some narrative drive and occasionally slips into a sluggish pace.

On the other hand, Foreman’s spiritual journey and faith are given ample focus – and those segments resonate well. The film portrays a man with extraordinary fire and determination, someone who fought just as fiercely outside the ring as he did in it.

In summary:
An inspiring, feel-good film that caters well to a wide audience. But by skipping several crucial moments in boxing history, it misses the chance to elevate the biopic to something truly exceptional.

⭐ Rating: 7/10
Production: 5/10 (Marked down for skipping major historic events)
Cinematography: 6/10
Authenticity: 7/10

Thanks for the show, George. You truly had fists of steel

I love biopics and I've been a fan of George Foreman for years so when this showed up in Netflix, I had to watch it. It was a good bio of Foreman and his life, rise to the pinnacle of boxing, and subsequent conversion to preacher. Understandably, much of it was overdramatized for the big screen and much of his childhood was encapsulated in only the first few minutes of the film. The film is central to George Foreman the "man", however, so the boxing is limited. If you're looking for a documentary that includes a lot of Foreman's fights, you'll definitely want to look elsewhere. This wasn't a bad biopic but is _does_ run on the lengthy side at over 2 hours. It's a fairly easy watch for real sports fans but it might become kind of tedious if you around in the peak of Foreman's boxing career.

A solid properly long movie about the famous George Foreman. The casting made it great and the characters so likable. It is such an incredible story about he lead many lives and had many ups and downs. The thing holding this film back was getting to know his child hood and relationships with his siblings better.

Usual borderline biopic good mostly to know more about the character, who I did not know at all.
