Utopian movie dealing with today's social questions. Showing us what the future is going to be for the human race. It is actually a good movie if you want to think. Yes it is a MUST WATCH!

I see where this movie is going. At first I didn't get it but then I understood the war between AI and nature. A city full of hologram trees or real oxygen? Using a pod for pregnancy or doing it the "old fashioned" way. Creating a bond with your baby or keep a distance?
I saw all of this and more.

Congrats to cast and crew and the idea. 👏

The low rating to me seems unfair. The movie is different, and might be for just a specific audience. And that audience was me. I rated it 7 hearts, 'good'.

The movie is slow paced, the character development could have been more prominent, but it is there.
They tried to portray the reluctant Alvy, and the motivated Rachel, how they manage the challenges of a growing technical, AI-led world. I think a 3 to 6 episode miniseries would have been better if we look at development and more depth.

I wish they had the guts to cut 45 minutes of this and made it a Black Mirror episode.

Imagine if having children became possible through capsules

The movie is set in the near future in New York City, where a young couple, Emma and John, decide to use an amazing new technology called the "digital egg" to fulfill their dream of having a child. This technology allows couples to conceive their children inside a technological capsule that resembles an egg.

The film is beautiful, especially as it deals with futuristic fears about replacing mothers’ wombs with digital capsules.
The acting is good, nothing extraordinary but decent.

The futuristic aesthethic was a delight. However, the story lacked the spark to maintain my interest for long. Perhaps it needed more time in the writer's pod.

I, too, have dreamt about giving birth to hard-boiled eggs.

In the words of Ryan George:
"So, you have a movie for me?"
"Yes, sir, I do. I was thinking, what if we made it a movie about a future where people have AI therapists and raise babies in artificial wombs?"
"Go on."
"That... That's it. That's the movie."
"That's it? I imagine it will be difficult to make a feature-length movie with no plot."
"Actually super easy, barely an inconvenience."
"Oh really?!"
"Yeah, I figure we could just make everything happen SUUUUUPER SLOWLY and pretend it's deep and philosophical?"
"And you're sure that will make for a good movie?"
"Absolutely, sir... Kind of... Maybe..."
"Oh, wow wow wow... Wow."

In the words of Alex Meyers:
"Nothin'. FREAKIN'. Happens."

Dear Film Makers:

Would you like to borrow my copy of STORY by Robert McKee? It looks like you could use it.

Sincerely,

An Amateur Writer

I don't know how a single concept can be stretched into a movie. How came up with this idea, and how come no-one around them said "no"? It would have been fine as a 42 minute episode in a series, but was stretched way to far here.

My advice? Your time is too precious, so put this one well down in your wishlist.
