The Whole Truth

Nothing scary if you're hoping for a horror show. It is kinda predictable but in the end it seems like they are trying so hard not to be predictable that they had to keep one upping their game so they had to do twists after twists which at one point you'd think "alright, i get that this family has some messed up background but is it gonna get any worse than that?" Overall, i'd give it a fair for trying with the muuuultiple twists they threw in the end but i wouldn't say it's a good show.

not the worst but not the best asian horror flick i've seen. spoiler without spoiler tags: the cat dies. the twists are good though there's definitely some dragging in the pacing and some unnecessary scenes, but i enjoyed watching it regardless!

It goes on too long and is occasionally a little messy, especially towards the end. The buildup is good, however, but its a shame the narrative loses its way.

To be honest, I don't know if the acting is bad or if it's just a Thai way of acting, but sometimes it feels like a telenovela. The actress (far too old to play a high-school girl) is stuck on her constipated face pretty much the whole time.

The characters handle situations rather bizarrely. The sister sees a little girl crawling like the chick from the movie "Ringu" and just thinks about going to help her. The brother wakes up bleeding, and she just warns the grandmother that he's sick (he himself wants to go to school, because apparently it's perfectly normal to wake up bleeding). Then in the evening, she says he needs to be taken to hospital... Nothing makes sense.

Meanwhile, there's a parallel film with the grandfather investigating to avenge his daughter from a mobster's son. Then the focus returns to the main story.

Anyway, the whole truth (sorry, I had to) is this movie is pretty bad.

It's way too long for the story it has. It's also predictable, messy, and bloated with horror clichés, flashbacks, and unnecessary side plots that have nothing to do with the main plot. It becomes ridiculous in the third act and not in a fun way. Twist after twist is a bit too much at some point and what worse is there's only a few that make sense. A waste of time and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. This story could've been done in a shorter runtime.

this would be nicer if they put all in 45/60 minutes. its getting annoying with to many sideways

Not bad but wouldn’t waste my time watching again

It’s a lot better than 3/4 of the horror movies these days. Just because it’s Thailandese, it doesn’t mean it can’t be good.
It won’t win an Academy Award or anything like that but it’s really good and well done. It’s worth a watch.

Sadly very mediocre. Needs a 50min cut.
