Denzel is by far the best actor in history! This movie is just epic, storyline on point. Acting is second to none. Definitely going to add to my collection and I am going to watch it again this weekend.. You don't have to ask. YES it is a MUST WATCH!

Possible Spoilers Ahead....
The 1985 series was one of my favorite shows, and I've enjoyed both the TV and movie reboots.
This film really evoked a deeper sense of bonds, and also felt like, "The Godfather," scenes in Italy (but we get to be the good-guys here).
It's pared down to just the items, events & interactions which convey the meanings and theme summed up in a memory of a conversation twenty-six minutes into the film: "One day someone does something unspeakable to someone else, and you do something about it 'cause you can." And, then She says, "Because it's who you are? Who you've always been?" So much of this story is in service to that core relationship, or set of bonds -- and, that's exquisite -- and, of course, frames the theme of his decisions & actions.
Every little thing carries meaning -- when he puts away his killing watch, the way he's touched by a child's innocent gift. The first time I watched it the violence at the beginning was jarring, but the second time I understood it. I'm a pacifist but in the context of this story it's reasonable and necessary even that he is using his training and experience to protect others, without regard for his own interests.

I think I like this one the best of the 3. Also, probably due to my not remembering much of 1 and pretty much nothing of 2. (Good while watching but not memorable). This one had a decent story and wraps the story up nicely for no more sequels.

Denzel killing it as always, in this case many times, LITERALLY, and, although he slipped a bit at the start due to his innate compassion and moral ethics, it is this compassion that puts him into the position to equalize the situation he ends up in. Let's hope the "trailer" for the next outing is actually real and not just made up click bait:
