This is one of the best video game to movie adaptations ever made. Such a campy classic. I love this movie, even if it has some obvious flaws.

There are a couple of reasons I rate this one so high...and yes...they are all based on pure nostalgia.

First of all...the music. The theme is one of the most recognizable pieces of music ever written and brings me back to a time where each and every cd I burned to use in the car had this tune as the first track. I actually got a speeding ticket while blasting this out of a very big stereo in a very cheap Ford Sierra. I guess it's just that magical, as that car was faaaar from fast.

Second...I used to play the hell out of the arcade game, and later on the Sega and the PC. This movie was really made for all of us that knew the game. Everything we loved was crammed into an hour and a half of pure MK goodness. The only thing that could have been done better from this perspective, was to include some r-rated action. The games certainly are...

Yes...Mortal Kombat is cheesy as hell, and the actors, along with the story, are about as B-grade as they come, but it's still very fun and brings me back to a time of flawless victories and fatalities. For that...it deserves to be rated high.

overall it was a decent movie.... mortal kombat is like one of my favorite video games of all time and since im a Scorpio 🦂♏, i always choose him (Scorpion) and every one in awhile i also choose his arch rival Sub-Zero... but wasn't too happy because they made both look weak, cuz in the game he (referring to Scorpion) is dam near unbeatable and i rarely lose when i select Scorpion but yet the movie didnt live up to the game at times in all aspects.... honestly wasn't all dat impressed with the final fight scene, felt like something was missing...

so overall it was a GOOD movie just not a GREAT or WOW type movie...

my verdict/rating: 7/10

Supremely cheesy, bad acting, and only a couple truly good fight scenes. But it encapsulates the video game well, keeps you entertained with constant action and bright colorful cinematography, and is a breeze to watch at ~90min.

A mediocre movie based on the classic video game. For fans only.

What I enjoyed most is the title song after not hearing it for so long. Reminded me of the games from my childhood. But that's about it what was good about the movie…
