One of my all time favourite movies. And the soundtrack is in my opinion the best ever! Kudo's for Basil Poledouris. šŸ‘Œ

The best sword and sorcery movie ever made IMO. And perhaps the best score ever produced. The score… the score… all of it is so good. F-ing best movie ever made. and if you watch the directors commentary version… pricelessssssss….

Soo damn good! All around great fantasy flick. It's also aged really nicely. One of the best of Arnold's career. It's too bad we never got the third movie to wash the taste of the second away, and leave a finer legacy.

I'm not sure what it is with Conan the Barbarian.

On one side, I'm back to when I was a kid collecting Conan comics, loving sword and sorcery in general and specifically this movie.

On the other, as an adult, I feel this movie is incredibly stupid, and apart from the excellent sound and visuals, I shouldn't really care for this at all.

Well...I choose to side with my kid self. Conan the Barbarian is one of the best sword and sorcery films ever made. End of story!!!

"There comes a time, thief, when the jewels cease to sparkle, when the gold loses its luster, when the throne room becomes a prison, and all that is left is a father's love for his child."

I remembered that Arnold knocks out a Camel, kicks a Rat across the room, kills a gigantic Snake, bites a Vulture dead and he also kicks a Dog that is in his way. Conan didn't like animals.

Anyway Conan the Barbarian is still a fun watch. I enjoy my swords and sorcery movies from time to time and Conan the Barbarian might be the best one from the 80's. The sets looks amazing, I really enjoyed the cast, James Earl Jones plays the bad guy well, Mako is always fun and Sandahl Bergman looked great. We even get the legendary Max von Sydow! You just can't go wrong.

The only little bit of downside for me that it feels a tiny bit dragged but you can't have everything. Conan the Barbarian is the role that was made for Schwarzenegger. He is Conan.

>*"There comes a time, thief, when the jewels cease to sparkle, when the gold loses it's luster, when the throne room becomes a prison, and all that is left is a father's love for his child."*

'The days of high adventure' indeed! It's from the 80's and it has Arnold in it so of course it's good. This adventure is fast-paced, we don't stay in one place very long it's action set piece after set piece and there's enough fun to keep it entertaining. I do wish there were more one-liners from Arnold though and the long stretches of no dialogue and too much loud score did make me lose a bit of interest several times.

Impactful start with Conan's backstory that kinda made me think of *Vinland Saga* for several reasons. While that was strong I wish they would've kept adding to his character because there's not much to him beyond Arnold's natural charm. The same can be said about everyone, that archer guy that looks like a member of the Beetles has absolutely zero development, not even the basics, he's just kinda there and you keep forgetting he's in the movie. There's a romance subplot for Conan that came out of nowhere and I just couldn't care less.

The action is mostly good but sometimes it's very obvious weapons don't hit their targets. A few dangerous looking stunts. Bloody kills. The villain looks like he could be in *One Piece* with his Zoan type powers. The snake arrows are a cool concept but I don't see what they do that arrows don't. The vampire lady and the anaconda were awesome but the camel punch was the best part!
