Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) – Review
Rating: 8/10

For the past few days, I’ve been watching both the Lethal Weapon and Bad Boys series. They're both buddy cop franchises but with different tones — and both are enjoyable. Of course, Lethal Weapon is different: more activist, more socially aware in many ways.

This was another really good movie. Leo Getz returns and basically sacrifices himself in a way. The running-on-ice scene was really cool.

I recognized the woman (the captain or whatever she is), but I can't remember from where.

Time has passed, the characters have aged, and a lot has changed — like his son, who now has a suspicious friend.

Also, why didn’t we see the dog this time?

And once again, they just happen to stumble into the bad guys. In the first movie it was a suicide aftewards, in the second a street chase afterwards— now again, a random situation turns into a huge crime case. Same type of chase scenes too: wrong turns, crashes, chaos.

But still, a great entry in the series.

An action comedy without being bad, unlike the fourth one. That is about as fun and entertaining as the second, just not as good.

This still holds up, much better than LW4. Mel Gibson's faux ponytail is insane and it wouldn't be a LW movie without some good old fashioned gay panic. Other than that, an effective and fun action comedy.

I got back from the theater and this is starting on tv! Every time any of the Lethal Weapon films pass on tv I just can't resist. Is stronger than me! I've seen them all a thousand times and I never get tired.

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are my favorite buddy cop team in cinema, they will always be! Their chemistry are absolutely amazing! And Joe Pesci always hilarious every single time.

For me the Lethal Weapon films are my childhood, I thank to my parents for letting a 8/9 year old children watch this kind of action films with them. I will always feel a special affection for all the four. They might not be perfect but for me they definitely are a part of the reason why the love for cinema started to grow inside of me even at that age.

"We can't shoot a dog. People? Okay, but not dogs."

Lethal Weapon 3 is such a solid movie for a third entry into a franchise. We still get the great banter, one-liners, chemistry and it really helps that Lethal Weapon keeps bringing back everyone. And they even add Rene Russo. She is bad ass. I loved her kicking ass, especially in the warehouse.

Anyway we get Leo Getz selling houses, the ice-hockey game scene, Murtaugh and Riggs as patrolmen, explosions, saving a kitty cat, termites, car chases, Murtaugh sitting in a bad again surrounded by family, still no retirement party and still amazing chemistry between Glover and Gibson.

I think I have seen 3 and 4 the least of this franchise because in the back of my mind I didn't really enjoy these back in the day. But I'm glad I was wrong, Lethal Weapon 3 is fun. Can't wait to see the fourth one again.

The third part looses a bit of steam, but not too much. I find that the Joe Pesci character is mostly unnerving, though overall, it is again great entertainment.

The series continues to decline in quality.
