In it's tale of religious obsession, this has more in common with Saint Maud than any Omen-alike chiller.
This is truly disappointing and boring
This movie is the perfect example as to why kids should NOT be allowed to practice religion. Personally, I think it should be banned altogether, but that's another story. At the very least, it should be illegal for kids to be religious. They are way too young to understand something that even adults can barely understand. It warps their minds, gives them a false sense of self and justice. They're taught that some magical man in the sky can solve all their problems. They're taught that if they don't live their lives according to some ancient book whose origins we can't even prove, then they will burn in hell for all of eternity.
That fucks up a kid's mind. It warps it, bending it until it can never be straight again. People have done unspeakable things in the name of religion and they get away with them because of it. If a child doesn't have the mindset that allows them to drink or drive, they shouldn't be allowed to practice religion either. This is coming from someone who was raised Christian and became a fucked up adult because of it.
Any parent that genuinely loves their kids won't do this to them. But I forget, God comes first, even over your own kids 🙄
Not a bad movie, but the parents are dumb as feck. Who in their right mind finds out that their kid murdered an animal, tries to suffocate each other to see "god" and does nothing about it? Again, if you truly love your kids, you get them help before they kill someone, not after. Idiots.
Also, the English dub is pretty terrible lol
The only good thing I can say about this movie is that it didn't put me to sleep like so many other b-movie horrors have of late.
I believe I may have let myself be led by the hype that this seemed to have picked up following it's netflix release but really, it is not good, not that I had read any spoilers for it more that I expected more from it, I expected a better film and was sadly disappointed.
Really bad movie... a completely no sense... extremely slow and boring...
Could easily say its a serie B movie... avoid if posible.
I think Adolfo was killed by the twins. Scary!
the kids suffocated each other then the mother and killed the family dog and the parents are still okay? they should have been shipped off the mental asylum right away. wtf was this movie
This movie left me with a distinct sense of unease, albeit in a strangely satisfying manner. The prominent use of symmetry throughout the film gave me strong Wes Anderson vibes.
