This will always be one of my #1 favorites! The songs and music are amazing, but I did not expect anything less of Danny Elfman. Summing up; I love Disney, I love stop-motion, I love 'monsters' with a kind heart, I love Tim Burton.. Can't get enough, this will live on forever.

The visuals really are stunning!
The monsters are depicted in a very interesting way, somewhat scary but also somewhat funny.
I've seen the music being mentioned in other comments as being extraordinary and it is, at times, but I wouldn't consider it the movie's strongest point. Just as I wouldn't consider the theme of Christmas as being this movie's strongest point (it is more a Halloween movie than a Christmas movie if you ask me).
But if not for anything else, I'd recommend watching this movie for the level of work that's been put in and the level of detail achieved here. Impressive!

This was my favorite movie as a kid. I had to have watched it more than 30 times and I wouldn’t mind watching it again.

This is my favorite childhood movie. If they came out with a sequel, I would definitely go to the theater to see it.

I had to have watched this movie over 100 times as a kid.
