Spanish mystery thriller about a couple taking in a traumatized little girl with strange behaviors. Starts as a slowburn drama and ends with a wild third act. It started strong and the mystery was intriguing but it got so slow towards the middle that I lost interest. I liked the idea of the chalk lines and the child actor did great.
2 thirds of this movie feels just like a spanish Siesta - Long and sleepy.
You'd think a hospital would involve the authorities when you bring in an abandoned child with medical complications and severe psychological trauma, but maybe it's just one of those mundane things that simply happen in Spain. Another day, another weird ass road kid. Sign some papers and she's yours to take home.
I have no idea why it's labelled horror because it's a twistaroo mystery/thriller and not a very good one either. Weird and lazy holes. The reveal and finale is somewhat exciting when
it goes full Fritzl
but by then the interest is already lost.
This isn't even horror. Why was it in the top 10.💀
