The Negotiator

The police try to arrest expert hostage negotiator Danny Roman, who insists he's being framed for his partner's murder in what he believes is an elaborate conspiracy. Thinking there's evidence in the Internal Affairs offices that might clear him, he takes everyone in the office hostage and demands that another well-known negotiator be brought in to handle the situation and secretly investigate the conspiracy.

_The Negotiator_ is an intense thriller with Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey delivering incredible performances as two negotiators caught in a high-stakes hostage situation. The tension and suspense are evident throughout the film, with twists and turns that will keep you hooked. The script is well-written, the direction is top-notch, and the supporting cast is excellent.

I find it hard to believe that the conspiracy
isn't more people: at least one of the police chief and the SWAT leader
.

A very good thriller if one considers the quite simple setting of the plot (a hostage negotiator is forced to take hostages himself to prove his innocence). I think if the betrayal had been staged in a bigger proportion (instead of stealing some money from the pension funds, something much bigger could have be imagined for the misdeeds of the corrupt police men) it would have help the movie a lot and would have made it much more gripping for the audience.

The premise has been done many times before, but the cast is very good.

Started out interesting and I like the premise but overall it fell a bit flat to me, felt more like a generic action movie to me and I feel like it wasted some potential.

Samuel L. Jackson is amazing as ever ofcourse.
