Bubba Ho-tep

Bubba Ho-tep tells the "true" story of what really did become of Elvis Presley. We find Elvis as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home, who switched identities with an Elvis impersonator years before his "death," then missed his chance to switch back. He must team up with JFK and fight an ancient Egyptian mummy for the souls of their fellow residents.

Such a wacky and hilarious premise. Looking back, it's not as effectively pulled off as the material would have you expect. I think that's mostly from a weak conclusion. Still though, this movie is fun as hell.

The writing for JFK was great in this film. “Pharaoh gobbles donkey goobers. Cleopatra does the nasty.” I thought Bruce Campbell's performance was not as great as the other cast. Scenes with the duo or Elvis and the nurse were all good. Overall it's very entertaining which where most of my 7 rating comes from. I love weird concepts like this and wish we got more of them today.

This is one of those movies where the concept is the best part. It’s a bit too dialogue heavy and lacked a little on the action but it’s still a good watch, just not one I would revisit often.

Great movie if your looking for some fun. I am a huge Elvis fan and loved this treasure of a movie about Elvis in a nursing home working with a gentleman who believes he is JFK to rid a soul sucking spirit. Funny premise and funnier watching Bruce Campbell as the aging Elvis use karate to defend himself. A great watch!

Overrated cult movie. Not terrible but boring after a while. The idea alone is good but it wears thin.

Nostalgia or love for Bruce Campbell must blind people to how weak this film is. It drags for most of the film. The action is scarce, and I didnt even care what happened by the middle of the film.

Super fun B-movie that has lost a bit of its charm with more modern meta takes watering down this particular genre. Bruce is having a blast but it is Ossie Davis that really steals the show.
