Came out much warmer on this with the Pud half. Schwartz is always a treasure, and he and Edebiri have surprisingly emotional moments. The depths Pud can go to and the heights he can reach were surprising too, making for a journey into heroism or villainy that’s a blast either way. And there’s more to the choices than I thought- more endings, more variations, more period. I was impressed with how many endings I still hadn’t seen looking through the option to see them all. It’s a fun, creative project that grew on me with… time.

Splitting it into two playthroughs because this was much longer than I thought and it worked out how I did it. This was all Pud all the way through. I liked the growth she had, the naive hyped pure hearted one rarely gets a chance to develop and realize their flaws in this way, that for all their good intentions they can be insensitive and their actions can have consequences. It’s a great show of Edebiri’s range- I expected her to be the cat and Schwartz the dog, but she surprised me with the voice and delivery she chose being contrary to the sort of straight man in used to her being. She continues to impress me.

It’s a fun concept and creative all around, but a bit overlong and nothing revelatory when it comes down to it. It’s another multiverse story. The choices have a bit more effect than I first thought they would, but it’s not enough to elevate the concept or the typical family theme, though maybe Pud’s side of things will surprise me.
